This is a model of the Enterprise-A from the closing sequence of Star Trek: Beyond. It is an absolutely MASSIVE model (far larger and more complex than Galactica), and it's extremely difficult to use. THIS IS NOT A MODEL FOR NEW OR INEXPERIENCED USERS. There are no shortcuts for using this model. For example, there are no emissive textures on the hull representing lighting, except for the itty-bitty light sources themselves - you'll have to do all of the lighting from the spotlights yourself, and there are a lot of them. Also, by default, this model will take up over a gig of your RAM with everything spawned in. You'll want to shrink/compress the textures (especially the engineering section ones) if you want to put the Enterprise-A in a big scene.

This model is split up into 2 (actually 4, I'll get to that in a bit) parts, because the model is too complex to be ported as one piece, even with stdpatch. Simply spawn both pieces in, and then either copy the roottransform position from one model to the other, or lock the roots together and zero them. The 2 pieces weren't split with any organization in mind, so it'll look messy if they're not perfectly together.

Now, whilst the original model is included, I also elected to do a few "enhancements." Included is a 3D interior for the saucer section, and a 3D bridge. When using these interior pieces, you'll want to change the interior imposter bodygroups, in the model labeled Part 1. The saucer interior assets are from the 2013 Star Trek game, and they were hapzardly form-fitted to the saucer by me. I'm pretty sure the scale is slightly off, and it's a bit sloppy looking. They do look good when viewing from the outside in, though, and it's an optional thing to use, so I'll consider it a win in my book. The bridge was taken from Star Trek: Bridge Crew. It may not be lore accurate to the actual bridge of the Enterprise-A, but we never see that bridge on screen and it matches the Kelvin Starfleet aesthetic, so it works for now. Again, it's optional, and for scenes where the camera is close to the bridge, it looks nicer than the original flat texture.

This model was created by Alexander Klemm, and acquired from https://www.alex3d.at/. It was an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ to port (over 1000 objects and not one material assigned to any of them? sign me up), and for some reason, there were numerous tiny errors in the mesh all over the ship. I corrected most of them, but it's still not perfect. However, the remaining errors are so tiny and so insignificant, you'll likely never notice them. Unless you do, in which case, please let me know.

This model isn't to any particular scale - i.e., it's not at 1/100 scale or 1/16 scale or anything notable. In fact, there is no set number for the actual size of either the Enterprise or Enterprise-A - a lot of numbers were tossed around for the Enterprise, from as low as 294 meters to as large as 1,200 meters. The most quoted size, however is 725 meters. The original designer for the Enterprise-A said it's about the same size as the Enterprise (the size of which he said was 762 meters). Now, assuming the Enterprise-A is also 725 meters, then it's roughly to-scale with the Galactica model I previously ported. Future capital ships going forwards will be at this same scale, with the Galactica serving as a meter-stick.

Q) Why this ship and not like, literally any other, more prominently featured ship?

A) Simple, really. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the design of this ship. Not just that, but damn near any Starfleet ship that has seen any amount of screen time has been ported to Source one way or another. Seriously, check out Pundus's collection.
That, plus I think having an insanely detailed model of an iconic ship (it's still the Enterprise, after all) that doesn't have much screen time is a novelty.

Q) Will you port any other of Alexander Klemm's models?

A) Perhaps. I've been eyeing his Sovereign model, although I have a few other things I want to work on for the time being.

Q) Why is this model in pieces?

A) I detailed it in the description up above. It's simply too large for the model compiler to handle in one piece, even with the stdpatch dll injector, which raises model size limitations. Since it's a hardsurface model made of so so many little objects, it's easy to split it into multiple models. When combined in SFM, visually, it would look no different than if the whole thing were compiled as one model.

Q) WHY DIDN'T YOU COMPRESS THE NORMALMAPS??????

A) Because compressed normalmaps look ugly as ♥♥♥♥. Bite me. Compress them yourself if you want. DXT5.

Q) If I pull that off, will you die?

A) It would be extremely painful.
