Update of Faeldray, original by Willelbinis mod

- Added support for Selectable Sculpture Graphic
- Added trading-tags
- Added wall mountable paintings, slightly smaller
- Added rotation-support for the wall mountable paintings

To add your own wall-mounted paintings there is a template here[github.com] as well as two BIMP-templates to automate it using the BIMP[alessandrofrancesconi.it] plugin to GIMP.

Pawns Paint! Restored is a variation/continuation of the amazing Pawns Paint! by WillieLambo. When Willie was unable to continue updating it, I really missed it in my games so I made a version for my own personal use. After getting Wille's approval, I'm now sharing it on the Workshop for all to enjoy!

The only major difference between my version and Willie's is that I changed the paintings to be all real-life public domain paintings.

Don't like the paintings? Or want to add/remove some?
You can change them! They are located in the following folder on your hard drive:
Steam installation location\SteamApps\workshop\content\294100\2449797994\Textures\Things\Building\Art

If you'd like to make your own paintings, you can download templates[github.com] that were made with paint.net and Photoshop. All of the paintings that get loaded into a game are located in your local "Painting" folder, so you can add or remove them in there.

If you want Wille's paintings back, download and unzip this file[github.com], delete the "Painting" folder on your computer, and paste the new "Painting" folder in its place.

Possible future features
  • Rotatable easels and paintings
  • Wall-mounted paintings
  • Larger paintings
  • World peace

  • All credit goes to WillieLambo for making this wonderful mod. I just updated it.
  • ThirdEye for the Simplified Chinese translation.

The description for the original mod is below:

Let your colonists paint!
Paintings give beauty and lets pawns look at them for joy.

This mod lets your colonists build an easel and make paintings from cloth and wood.
Colonists paint whatever they feel like, and sometimes it's some weird *#@!.

The paintings are unfortunately not rotatable, which is a shame. I've tried and tried to make it work but having both random textures and make it rotatable doesn't seem possible.

Currently on version Beta 18!! ---
Beta 18 link (big thanks to Jibbles for the files!):
Alpha 17 link:
Alpha 16 link:

The idea is that every painting is randomized from a folder full of paintings.
If you have any ideas for paintings or balancing suggestions, please let me know.

If you want to add/remove custom paintings, this is the directory,
Paste this in your windows search:
Your harddrive:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\294100\917248300\Textures\Things\Building\Art

...And smash that subscribe button!

Wallhung paintings don't seem to add to the beauty and impressiveness of the room?

@Mlie Wow, you work fast! Looks like its fixed on my end too, thank you so much!! :)

@randomvortex Should be fixed now, not sure why it hard-crashes but there may have been an issue with calculating beauty outside that referenced itself resulting in an endless loop.
Mlie  [author] May 11 @ 11:07am
@randomvortex Okay, Ill take a look at it.
By the way, I meant that you could post the log file on github/discord etc. and not the content of it here. Ive removed the extra coments to not clog up the comment section

thats the whole log, from initalization to crash, sorry it's all broken up i couldnt post it all at once. As far as I can tell, its not logging anything at the time of crash, but maybe I've missed something. I've been using "Dev Quicktest" to start a new game each time for testing to make sure its not another mod conflict
Mlie  [author] May 11 @ 5:04am
@randomvortex You can share the actual log file after the game crashes. Its called player.log

@Mlie I was trying to get a log but the game freezes instantly, always resulting in a crash to desktop. I'm not sure if its logging anything in the debug log or if it's crashing too soon before it has a chance to write anything, I tested on dev mode and the error log never gets a chance to pop up before crashing. I also forgot to mention it is only when the paintings are hung up and a pawn is nearby. If a mechanoid installs the painting everything is fine till a pawn gets nearby but if aa pawn installs a painting, it crashes instantly

@randomvortex Could you post a link to a log where this happens? Or post the log file on the Discord server or Github repo.

It seems wall paintings are causing the game to crash in 1.5. If a pawn is within viewing radius to a wall painting the game soft-locks and crashes, I've tested it with only this mod ( + Ideology, Core, and Harmony) and retested on v 1.4 with the same list and can confirm something weird is happening in 1.5. Weirdly its only if a human pawn gets near one, friendly Mechanoids from Biotech and Ghouls from Anomaly can both pass by them just fine but as soon as a pawn gets close it crashes every time. It's also only happening with wall paintings, the free standing paintings seem to be working just fine still. Hope thats at least a somewhat helpful report and thanks for all the great work you do!! :]

Any chance to add dye ( from tincotria plant) to resources required for making a painting ?
it's vanilla plant.
