Description
Welcome to Riska Gardr, a map that brings the stunning region of Sandnes fjord in south west Norway to life. The name "Riska" is believed to be derived from the Viking-age farmstead that once stood in this area, and "Gardr" means farm or yard in Old Norse. This map combines artistic liberties with realistic elements to create a unique and immersive experience for players.

One of the standout features of Riska Gardr is the inclusion of national highways from the Mass Transit DLC, adding a level of realism and immersion to the map. Players can also utilize the 81 Tiles mod to access the train system, providing even more options for exploration. In addition to these modern transportation methods, the map also features unique rivers and lakes, the beautiful coastland of Norway, and detailed farm fields and mountain tracks to discover. With this map I try to capture the beauty and diversity of the region, offering an authentic and immersive experience for players.

With around 800,000 trees and 5,200 props, Riska Gardr offers a rich and detailed environment for players to build in and explore. To enhance the overall aesthetic of the map, we recommend using the Laviante 2.0 and Laviante LUT themes and increasing the exposure on the theme. This will help to bring out the colors and details of the map and create a more cohesive and visually appealing experience.

As my first map, Riska Gardr has been a labor of love and I am grateful for the support and guidance of Fenrir and Teddy Radko in its creation. If you enjoy this map, please consider leaving a like to help spread the word and allow more players to experience it. Thank you for playing Riska Gardr!

THis map is beautiful, not sure why is taxing on my fps. played a map bigger file size than this, maybe it's the tree count for my pc. definitely beautiful map!

I've been building on this map for a couple of weeks now and it is STUNNING. I'm doing an all rural build, no skyscrapers and no big cities here. I've visited the region on Google Earth and am using the small towns of Bennington and Brattleboro Vermont as my inspiration to make an American version of Norway. Absolutely gorgeous map.
