Allowing for 13 or more gears with a Logitech G25/G27 H-Shifter

This Guide will help you configure your G25 or G27 racing wheel to allow for transmissions up to 24 + 4 Reverse gears in Euro Truck Simulator 2. I only show you how to go up 18 but the way you allow for 24 is the same just with more settings inside the file.

This guide only covers how the game will react to the G25/G27 H shifter. If you have an H shifter from a different wheel or a homemade H shifter I cannot gurantee that the .sii setups below will work for you.

Please remember as with any file sharing to always be careful of what you download. These .sii files that I provide are merely text based files which cannot run any code and you may check the contents of these files by simply opening them with a text editor such as Notepad or my personal favorite Notepad++
I include this extra bit of information simply because I have used MediaFire links since I created this guide which managed to get thousands of downloads and I kind of feel personally attacked by Steam not allowing my links through them anymore. I have never and will never distribute any malicious code for anything as I find that practice extremely distasteful and I do not appreciate you screwing up my links in this regard Steam.

What do I select in game to make it all work?

Well that all depends on which one of the 3 .sii files you made your custom shifting pattern with. You will need to navigate to "controls" then make sure to select "H-shifter" for transmission type. You then need to scroll down to find the different H shifter layouts as shown below.

What you see circled in Pale Yellow are the default "Straight 12" and "Super 12" shift patterns provided by SCS. These will always be default. This feature was not introduced until patch 1.11 or 1.12 (can't remember which).

What you see circled in Red are the 3 custom patterns that you can define as outlined in this guide. If you made your custom pattern in Range, then you would select "Custom Range". It is the same for the other two. Select whichever one you used to define your custom pattern.

The 16 speed + 2 Reverse pattern I have given below is a "Splitter" while the 18 speed + 4 Reverse is a "Range_Splitter" sii file

So you don't want to make the file yourself

If you would rather just download a file and go I can help you with that too. I have 2 pre-made gearing setups. 1 for a 16 speed+2Reverse and 1 for an 18 speed+4Reverse.

Where to place the files?
You will want to navigate to the profile folders section of Euro Truck Simulator 2, the path should look something like this:

C:\Users\YourComputerNameHere\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\profiles

You will then need to open the folder for the profile you wish to have this gearbox setting in. NOTE: You will need to place the file in every profile folder in which you wish to have the special gearbox settings.

How do I know which profile folder I should place the file in?
To find out which profile you want to stick the profile in, simply start the game, go into that particular profile and make a save. Then when you look at the profile folders you will see which one was edited last and that is the one you just made the extra save for.

If you mean the standard .sii files that come with the game normally, I can probably upload them within about 24 hours from this message. However, you should be able to make the orignals come back by simply deleting the .sii files from the profile folder and then starting the game up again. The game should automatically generate the stock files on it's own.

Thank You Kispaw. All links have now been properly updated. Sadly Steam has now disallowed links going to MediaFire. I am guessing because it is often used to distribute malicious code. I have partially worked around this by replacing a couple of key points which keeps it from being a link meaning if you wish to download from those particular links you will need to correctly enter the missing parts of the link in your address bar.

The Dropbox and Google Drive links have been updated as well and should be working again as intended.

I answere my own question. Have to replace one of the existing custom gearbox files with the new one, and keep same filename. Range and Split are Shifter toggle 1 and 2. As for gears - am using a modded Scania transmission 12+2 that has R1/R2 and L1/L2, plus 1-12 and I wanted to setup like an Eaton Fuller 13 speed, but with a split L. So I followed your guide and did my own. Your Impulse index numbers were key. Challenge was figuring out how the gear numbers in the sii file mapped to the gear numbers in the modded transmission.

I'm missing how to implement this. I downloaded the file to my profile, as gearbox_splitter.sii. Do I replace the existing gearbox_splitter file? Do I then choose it in H-Shifter setup in options as type splitter, or should I see as a custome splitter? Should I then see buttons 8 and 9 as Reverse and Low range respectivley? What buttons will control rangle select and splitter?

Hmm, So I'm having a bit of trouble following what you are looking for. If I understand correctly you are basically wanting to have the gearing where physical positions 1-6 are going to run 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11.........but you can press 1 splitter button and those same 1-6 physical positions will run as 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12........then to hit 13th gear you would just press the second splitter button? If that is corrent then I would say it is most likely possible to set it up that way. I haven't actually looked at the ATS .sii files yet to even see how they are structured although I imagine that they are similar.

Hi! I want to have in ATS for 13 gears something like a splitter but by default game the range-splitter is like 2-4-6-8 (1-2-3-4 on H shifter) so 5th and 6th gears on shifter are empty and then you press splitter and you have 10-12-13 (1-2-3 on H shifter) and now are 4th, 5th and 7th gear on shifter empty. I would like to have it how it is in ETS 2, 2-4-6-8-10-12 (all gears are on shifter) and then I would press shifter just to get 13th gear, of course I would have a second splitter for other gears (1-3-5-8-11). So I'm asking you if you can help me because I really don't know how to do this.
