Description
Multiplayer Helper:

Originally built for Civilization esports event (e.g. CWC tournaments), this mod initial objective was to limit the amount of game re-lobbying by preventing the AI from taking over players unit during on disconnect. It has grown to include numerous MP & SP quality of like improvements for competitive players such as well as new gameplay modes.

In-game improvements:
  • AI will not automatically takeover humans unit on disconnection. Allowing player to reconnect and then move their units. Host can decide if the AI is taking over if it is a legitimate quit.
  • Players can vote in-game to restart on a new map seed.
  • Host can directly remap in-game
  • New lua-based turn timers with most popular tournament settings, also available in SP for training.
  • A technology or civic will be auto-selected at the end of any turn in which you do not manually select one. This tech/civic is always the lowest cost tech/civic that you can research usually from top to bottom vertically in the event there are more than one tied for lowest cost.
Note: New functionalities available from the in-game (Esc) menu under "Multiplayer Helper"

Frontend improvements:
  • Players can rename themselves directly from the lobby
  • Game is now supporting up to 50 players
  • Host can restrict trading (e.g. No military Alliance or no Gold trading)
  • Host can prevent surprise wars or friendship
  • Players can vote to select their map settings ("Voting Draft")
  • Players can do esports style draft with Map Bans, Leaders Ban, and timed pick ("Tournament Draft")
  • Players can be restricted to pick from a randomly allocated leaders only ("Restricted Draft")
Note: Due to some restrictions to Firaxis mod hotloading, some new functionalities such as drafting are requiring the mod to be subscribed and the game to be restarted in-order to be available. Host would not be able to select those functionalities unless all players have subscribed.

New game modes:
  • Anonymous mode: all players are anonymous in game
  • Sudden Death mode: players are slowly eliminated 1 by 1 looking based on their ranking
Note: Like Firaxis New Frontier Pass "Apocalypse mode", you can only select the modes when creating the game. Game would have to be recreated if you decide to add another mode after creating your lobby. Some modes would be activated mid-June after the CCC IV tournament announcement. These modes are also available in Single-Player for training.

CPL is a league of players who love civ6 and would do anything for one more turn.

Troubleshooting:

You are out-of-sync with the rest of the players? Most likely that's due to you having a different version of the mod. Unfortunately the auto-download isn't reliable.

You cannot see the draft option? That's because you need to preload the mod. Activate it in additional contant then restart Civ6 then you should be good to go.

Any other issues: please comment below or better log on the discord server and reach out. Ideally a savefile and a lua.log would help tackle the issue.

Linux? sorry the case sensitive nature of Linux makes it hard to debug on a windows machine. You have a good heart? fix it one by one using lua.log and publish the fix on github.

This enabling turn timer on single player is really annoying. If I forgot to turn it off first then I have to lose the save I am playing on to go back and turn it off.

@brunhrafn @Epstein Island @Titanium Iceman, i suspect these are from other mods conflicting or version mismatch, mph updates have mostly been lang and preset updates.

Has anyone noticed greatly increased desyncing issues with this installed? I'm going crazy trying to figure out why my wife's computer is randomly desyncing while playing over LAN, and this mod is my best guess as to what's causing it.

@Goblinballs: the dynamics timer from the game is a loosely built around number of cities on the map but it is meant for casual players. In a tournament context, noting our mods were made for eSports, it would be impossible as games would be like 8h+ long... that's why it is fast. Note that you can change the timer when you are the host.
