UPDATE v1.1.2 - 2/21/2021: Re-disabled AI use of the skill - it was causing crashes.

Assault Jump
Inspired by the assault marines of WH40k: Dawn of War I & II, this mod adds "Assault Jump," an area-of-effect fly-up-and-smash-the-ground knockdown attack, to the Polymorph skill Spread Your Wings, right alongside Flight.
  • Costs 2 AP
  • Recharges in 2 turns
  • Deals 85% of your equipped weapons' damage regardless of ranged or melee
  • 13 meter base range (same as Flight)
  • Damage and knockdown effect radius of 2 meters
Assault Jump is not a teleport-disguised-as-a-jump like Phoenix Dive--this skill is more-or-less identical to the function of Flight except for the AoE, sound, and particle effects, which I customized to be somewhat unique to the skill.


(The icon for the skill is a pretty obscure and abstract reference, I'll admit. But it took me forever and I'm really happy with how it turned out.)

nahhh. If I was gonna beg you to come back, it would be for a rune that mimics a shield I found on the nameless isle. it decreases the source cost of every spell by 1. I tried to learn to mod, just for that. I failed. I even asked my daughter , that just started doing firmware and app coding, for a living. naaahhh. I'm set :)

@kmcsjr: Awesome! If it hadn't been so long since I've modded Divinity I might be able to remember how to make a patch for perfect compatibility - but I'm glad to hear there's a workaround at least.

I lied! I found that putting assault jump after Toggle Poly gave me the skill. It replaced remove wings, making wings PERMANENT. But, activating spider legs, clears wings and assault jump, so it works fine!

Stygian Emperor - I've got 144 mods going. My best guess then is it conflicts with Project Polymorph or Toggle Polymorph DE combined (it makes wings permanent). Ah well. I moved it around a few times, in case it was load order. Great idea. Thanks for doing it. Unless you have an epiphany and it is one of those, and you're motivated to spend more time on this, I'm OK without it...

@kmcsjr: It's part of the Spread Your Wings skill. When you activate Spread Your Wings, you normally only gain Flight, which is its own ability that disappears when SYW ends - this mod also adds Assault Jump, the button for which appears at the same time as Flight's. You will need an extra empty space on your skill bar when you activate SYR or Assault Jump may be pushed off to the second page or something, too.

I'm lost. How do I find the skill? I see the blue and yellow triangles in the recipe, but don't understand. Also, I'm not using vanilla

hey no worries, I haven't launched it quite yet was still workin on my modlist, I'm fine with the version you got now, I'd rather the game not crash then a few enemies maybe using an ability y'know

@NontoxicKappa: Odd. Well, the "new" version is just a revert to the last one, so it shouldn't crash now regardless. There's a link in the description to v1.1.1 if you want to keep using that one.

It turns out when running the game as administrator, it doesn't crash. Very strange
