Description
Far from Imbuing the Army with an Ésprit

Considerable time later, may I present to you, the superior Needle Rifle, the French Fusil 1866 Chassepot. The Chassepot was a French firearm developed in the late 1850s and officially adopted in ye year 1866 by a fellow named Antoine. The rifle was famous for its use during the Franco-Prussian War, and while a smaller caliber than their Prussian counterparts, the weapon was altogether superior to the Dreyse. The weapon would continue to see service throughout the late 19th and even into the 20th centuries.

  • Includes three weapons, the Fusil 1866 Chassepot, the Chassepot AI Bayonet, and the Chassepot Bayonet
  • Obviously the AI bayonet is not intended for use by players.
Fusil 1866 Chassepot

The Bayonet Portion
  • Press 'X' to switch to the bayonet; if it doesn't work, you probably rebound the key and I cannot help much for that.

Chassepot Bayonet
  • A handheld, standalone bayonet for those who want to get in super close
  • 68 Damage
  • Effective Range of 2.2
  • Found in the Equipment and Melee tabs

I think another way to balance it would be to have the aim in time be longer - like in War of Rights. It takes longer to get that accurate shot off as the character tries to level the gun. Though I'm not sure yet! Your idea works too, I think I did what you commented on my other guns

To be honest with my previous comment. It would make sense that with the bayonet
a fixed to the end of the gun it would be a little inaccurate because the bayonet would hinder
the accuracy by slightly increasing the weight at the end of the muzzle. But, when the bayonet is
detached from the gun it is accurate.

more range, better accuracy, dude to historical reasons, the remake shoudnt make the needle rifle balanced as the Chassepot

Dreyse needle rifle VS. Chassepot 1866, its like comparing a Kropatschek 1887 to a Lee Enfield, far superior in any area

In fact the only other gun I've made that's older is the Baker Rifle and that's in dire need of new life

I'm not sure, I'll be remaking the Dreyse at some point but probably not this. The Dreyse as you may know is very, very old and not very up to standard with the rest of the stuff I've created - eg. it has no bayonet whereas the Chassepot does. Sometimes the bots use the bayonet thinking it's the rifle but there's no solution for that.
