Descripción
This mod allows you to upgrade Empire State Troops into armoured versions of the units. The upgrade costs 300 gold and they receive +30 armour.
The region where your army is has to have a Smithy or an Armoury for you to be able to upgrade.
The number of new armoured units you can have in your armies is tied to the number of Blacksmith and Armoury buildings you have. Each Blacksmith building you have will give +3 units you can have, Armoury will give +5.

Affects:
Crossbowmen
Halberdiers
Swordsmen
Spearmen
Spearmen (Shields)
Handgunners

Doesn't affect Greatswords because Ado's mod doesn't, and this is not my area of expertise. And I actually like how Greatswords look.

The main Upgrade Units mod is required.

The big difference from the scrap upgrade system CA added to the Greenskins is that my upgrades can switch the visual model of the units. This is currently impossible with the CA upgrade system, and to me this is very important.

Compatibility:
The SFO submod.
Stand-alone SFO version made by Daneman200.
For other overhauls:
The armoured version of the units will have vanilla stats + 15 armour. If you have mods that change, for example, Swordsmen stats, the upgraded version won't have those stats, but vanilla stats. I'd have to make compatiblity submods for it to work differently. Stay tuned for when/if I feel like doing this.
If you're using my Officer Upgrades you can only choose one upgrade path: armoured unit OR the unit with officer. I don't like it, but the whole system is so complex that it's hard to reconcile this kind of stuff.

Built-in compatibility with the Battle Standard Bearer mod.

Credits to Adopotato for his Heavy State Troopers Reskin, which is the visual base of this mod, and heavily built upon with H3ro's Asset Editor.

Hi there Prop, will you port this into Immortal Empires?

it upscales the default textures, they look the same but are in a higher resolution if you zoom in, it's only 2K to not cause performance issues

Ah okay, I usually have avoided moving the load order since it seems like everything is usually automatically adjusted, haven't had any conflicts before, and don't want to mess something up (I'm assuming the excellent modders of this game manually tweak the priority).

Out of curiosity, what does your mod change about the vanilla state troops?

you should move that mod above manually in the load order so it has higher priority, that mod apparently does a lot more than it used to and we both replace the same textures now

That actually isn't how it's supposed to look is the thing, some of the hair colours aren't working and the change to the armour tint isn't appearing either. That is why I likened it to Z-Fighting, if you zoom in, it looks like the hair colour is shifting between both. (Thank you for going through the effort to check)

works fine for me, tested with those 4 mods running

Sadly the update doesn't seem to have fixed the issue, I've narrowed it down and whenever I activate this mod, the Shallya mod, or the combiner, it breaks the visuals for the Hair Fix mod.

@linkfire12
Warhammer 1 Empire Facial Hair Fix can't conflict since I don't touch those heads.

It's possible some of Ado's Empire reskins would conflict, I renamed the files so they shouldn't now.

I suggest you just use https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1167252881

Warhammer 1 Empire Facial Hair Fix, when I used it alongside this mod it looked like it was z-fighting the old and new textures/meshes.
