Welcome to RimVali: Far From Avalon! This mod is designed to be a large-scale Avali mod, adding new mechanics, items, weapons, research, factions, materials, and so much more.
After spending a year and a half in development, it's finally here, and I hope it meets the expectations of everyone waiting.

Features

Avali!
The Avali are the core of this mod. Without them, nothing would exist. These cute, fluffy space raptors are weak- yet still dangerous, fast, and smart. Some Avali tribes who have been living here longer then the new colonies sent by the Illuminate have adapted to the conditions on this harsh planet, and become stronger, but slower.

Custom Framework
Rimvali runs on it's own custom built framework! Humanoid Alien Races is not required to enjoy your Avali colonists.

Scenarios
When starting as an Avali faction, you get two starting scenarios (The Avali Illuminate and Avali Independent worlds). Both offer unique play-styles, advantages, and disadvantages.

Packs
RimVali features a highly customisable pack system (just check the settings panel, or XML files if you're a modder!), giving Avali unique boosts based on the highest skills in the pack. However, Avali might get kicked from a pack (or switched to a new one) if their packmates don't like them enough.

Being without a pack also will bring about pack-loss, so take care not to get your packmates killed, yeah?

Augments/Bionics
We have over 20 augments for the Avali (and maybe more planned?), each providing some boost, whether it be body part health, efficiency, or something else.


Weapons
We have about 17 new Avali guns, and 4 new melee weapons introduced in this mod. You'll find both the Illuminate and Independent Worlds Avali have unique weaponry, such as the well known viroblade (Illuminate), modifications of stolen human technologies (Independent worlds), and more.

There also are 3 new turrets, and 2 new mortars with their own shells.

Materials
A small variety of materials have been added. You'll be familiar with the orange "Ferrogel" (also known as Aerogel), but what about tungsten, or aero-tungsten carbide fiber?

Apparel
The avali have their own selection of casual and combat apparel, alongside an custom textures for most vanilla and royalty armor.

Storyteller
Enjoy a (somewhat) avali-themed storyteller, with art by Redsketch!
The "Nesi" storyteller should provide a somewhat interesting challenge, with larger events, some more unique mechanics, and occasional behavior shifts to keep you on your toe.


Research
The Illuminate Avali have many technologies you can research, like augments, weapons, etc.
As the Independent Worlds, you’ll have to find other ways to research these, most likely by capturing Illuminate pawns, and “hacking” research. (A dice roll done every couple days, if you’ve gotten all the prerequisites for a research project complete. It can be adjusted in settings, but eventually I want to make it more “immersive”, or something.)

And these are just a few things... I could list a lot, but we don't want to be here all day, do we?

Disadvantages are 100% okay, I mean... just flat out being advangagous isn't very fun for game design.

Mostly was thinking that like pack bonding would also be fun for things like wolf based races and the like, you know?

Our answer to that is:
In the future, with Biotech, yes. However, there will also probably be notable disadvantages to it.

With the re-write will it be posible to apply the pack mechanic to other races? Thats something I had always wanted to do before with modding, but well it didn't quite work due to hardcoding.

would very much love it if it was possible to modify their genes once you update it, but honestly biotech code kinda drives me insane so yeah its more than ok if its impossible

Is there a chance for a fix to the multiplayer mod issues that causes desyncs? Mostly making the special mecanics multiplayer friendly?
2 RimVali: Far From Avalon 2180380125 cs Pack Mechanics non-functional, many other features may also desync.
