Cosmetic Slots (v.26)

Description
IMPORTANT: BACK UP YOUR GAME SAVES AND UNEQUIP ALL ITEMS BEFORE INSTALLING OR UPDATING THIS MOD.

This mod is no longer in active development. There is nothing more that can be done with its current implementation. There is no need to worry about a surprise update nuking all of your stuff.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Slots for cosmetic purposes. Similar to wardrobe/transmogrification systems from other games.

Features:
- Change the look of the respective armor slot.
- Use any piece of armor appropriate for the respective slot.
- All stats on gear in cosmetic slots are ignored.
- There are no level/stat/class requirements for cosmetic slots. You can even use unidentified gear!

Also included are 10 pages for player inventory. This mod is not compatible with player inventory bag mods or any other mod that alters the player inventory window in any way. This mod must be placed above any such mods. No, I am not going to make a version of the mod without the extra inventory.

Known Issues:
- It is not possible to enable the appearance of armor in the regular slots when no cosmetic item is in use. If no cosmetic item is in place, the respective armor slot will appear as the default from character creation. The armor slot used to determine character appearance is hard coded into the game.

- It is not possible to create cosmetic slots for weapons.

@Spook Rooster It's odd, I use this thing religiously and it works fantastic. It needs to be towards the top of the mod order, but other than that, it works flawlessly.

The only time I've seen what you're describing happen is when you have another inventory mod like BAGMOD supersede this one in the mod order.

Mod's not busted, your mod order is the only thing busted here.

avoid this thing like the plague. it essentially deletes all weapons from the game, making them invisible and unusable, despite still existing in some form as items.

inb4 author claims i'm stupid like the previous comment and tells me to read the top line of the desc: this is with a fresh slate. no characters at all. pure new. your mod is busted.

@n3mes1s, The only patch done to the game since I created this mod was to support localization, which is very unlikely to cause any issues. That and the fact that many others are not having issues leads me to believe that you are having some sort of conflict with another mod.

I'm probably going to just start deleting comments related to the mod no longer working or deleting things. If you aren't smart enough to read the all-caps first line of the mod description, or to understand how to resolve mod conflicts in general, or to understand that this mod does not touch anything regarding the stash and therefore cannot possibly delete items in your stash, then you probably shouldn't even be attempting to load mods in the first place and you surely don't need to leave misleading comments on my mod page.

Tried it to see if I would have any conflicts....have not had any issues so far. Really liking it.

It might be a conflict on my end but it makes all my items invisible. Even character creation weapons.

Yup, this mod doesnt seem to be working properly anymore. Wish we could get an update.

Finally playing the game now in 2020, thanks so much for this mod, Breck! :heartris:
Cosmetic slots is something all RPGs should have in my opinion. I want my character to look awesome without having to make compromises between appearance and stat boosts all the time.

dear developers, after making this wonderful mod, you fulfilled my old dream. Now my character always looks like I want it, no matter what he's wearing. Every time I launch a game, I mentally thank you for your work. Once again, thank you very much and good luck in everything.

@doudley Breck is the original creator, I only fixed a small bug I was having with it. There's no reason to credit me. :)
Thank you for the link! I'll have to check it out later.

Here is the mod I made with visual only slots and armor swapping capability

Btw, you removed your Contributor privelages, should I only credit Breck in my mod page?

@Breck
I've been reading some of the comments here, I'm curious why weapon swap hotkey malfunctioned and why you had so much trouble working the slots, I might have to unpack this mod afferall to see it for myself. Thanks again for this brilliant idea!
