Description
The Pit of Death from the movie 300, is a deep circular hole used to carry out the death penalty. This Pit is famous for the airtime in its fall and ensures instant death.reduce unhappiness empirewide. The reason for this is people pretend to be happy, so they dont get kicked down like the judges of american idol. Has no other bonuses

I believe the pit is just a well for water, not meant to be an execution device. The reason this is significant is because the Persians demanded offerings of earth and water to symbolize a conquered enemy's submission. When the Persian emmisary was thrown down the well the statement is "Here is your earth and water."
