BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) when ALT+TAB or Changing Video Options
By kyuketsuki★
I've been bothered with this issue today, at least 4 times. I dumpster-dived into reddit and found solution on Doom's forums.

Delete Reshade from ProgramData (If you used Reshade once in ANY other game)
ProgramData is a file that located in your drive that Windows installed. It's hidden, so you've to turn on the visibility of hidden files. It's can be done in Folder Options > View > Files and Folders > Hidden files and folders > Show hidden files, folders and drives.

In ProgramData, there will be a Reshade folder, if you used Reshade in ANY other game before No Man's Sky. I installed the game and thought Reshade comes installed with No Man's Sky. It was a wrong thought, due seems like Reshade runs automatically if game uses VulkanAPI. It was my first experience with Vulkan, so I suprised to see Reshade interface when game boots up for the first time.

Simply delete that folder, that'll prevent Reshade injects when NMS launches. Don't even try to find something related Reshade in NMS files, there will be not.
Turn off Xbox Game Bar
This also causes BSOD, so you have to simply turn it off from your Windows settings (Only on Windows 10, up to date).

Click on Start Menu, there will be a gear-thingy icon - you know what it means, it's always the settings button on games, softwares etc. - and go to Gaming > Game bar > Record game clips, screenshots and broadcast using Game bar and turn that s down.

To test if it's still working or not, go to a random game and press Windows Key + G. If it not shows up, you are done.
Update your GPU drivers
Why were you using outdated ones anyways?

Jokes aside, use DDU to clean up your old drivers, to be sure.
Use Bordered (Normal Windowed) Setting
Seems like Borderless and Fullscreen caused me more trouble. Use normal windowed setting, it's quite safer then the others.

Honestly, Xbox Game Bar causes so many issues. I have had it cause problems for me in multiple games.

Of all the things that can cause bsods, such as unstable overclocks or driver/hardware issues, software and games aren't or at least extremely unlikely to be the cause, they're merely symptoms of the real issue.

If you have bsods, don't look up if it's related to a game, it's extremely likely it's not, check the bsod's error code and start there.
