Description
Obsoletion note

This asset is obsolete. An updated version is here: HK Mark 1 block 7s, 60s. Here's a list of updates:

  • All modules and props have been embedded in a single asset. You can subscribe to all dependencies and unsubscribe from them with a single click. You still have to subscribe to the mods separately, however.
  • An updated mesh: some errors have been fixed.
  • An updated diffuse texture: some details have been reworked to look more realistic.
  • A completely reworked illumination map: now the building looks almost realistic at night.

Description

A Mark I resettlement block in Hong Kong, as it looked in the prosperous 1960s. A 7-storey version, with a separate module for rooftop school. Based on later 7-storey blocks of Shek Kip Mei and Wong Tai Sin resettlement estates.

Mark I blocks, so-called 'H' blocks, were designed and built in 1954 as emergency housing in response to the Shek Kip Mei fire.

How to use it

1. It is a unique building. You have to make it a high-density residential building with Ploppable RICO mod. Suggested values:

- high density residental;
- level 1;
- 80 households.

2. It is a modular building. You have to plop the ground floor separately, and you have two options for that: either flats or shops. If you choose shops, you have three more options for corner shops: one for the left corner, two for the right. Also, you can place either flats or shops on both sides of the building. Also, you have to cover the roof with a rooftop school.

3. Make sure you have another segment of road at a 90 degree angle, so that the ground floor is also facing the road.

4. To assemble the modules into a building, install Fine Road Anarchy mod, press Ctrl-A for No Collision mode and plop the modules inside each other. Each module is a 4x7 or 7x4 asset, the modules fit seamlessly into each other.

5. Refer to the picture, it is worth a thousand words:

@davidyong1900

1. That's correct, the entire collection is Mark I modules: main building, different flavours of ground floor, rooftop school.

2. RICO makes these modules residential or commercial, otherwise, they are 'unique buildings', you'd be able to plop only one instance of them. Unfortunately, it is not possible to create a residential or commercial asset larger than 4x4 cells.

3. The props are already embedded into the assets, there's no need to plop them manually. I made some props as separate assets in case someone wants to reuse them.

不太明白這個物件的運作,整套收藏夾都是第一代公屋?全部下載后用RICO,move it ,prop拼裝?

Thanks a lot! I'm a Hong Konger and now building my own Hong Kong, looking for various HK assets. ;-)
