BACKGROUND:

From 1861-1867, France under Emperor Napoleon III intervened in Mexico because they refused to pay their debts, but in reality Napoleon III wanted to expand France's empire and influence in Latin America. Napoleon III installed his cousin and Habsburg Maximilian I as Emperor of Mexico.

The United States had just finished fighting their civil war, and sent 50,000 men to the Mexican border to emphasise that the time to intervene in Mexico had run out and that the French needed to leave. Napoleon III and his men withdrew from Mexico, and Maximilian I was shortly after toppled from power, which ended the Second Mexican Empire.

What if this went differently?

This mod has Mexico as a puppet of France, Mexico is the same colour as France and keeps its focus tree. You will need Man the Guns to play this mod also.
