Spirit Island - [By MJ & iakona]

We strongly recommend you purchase the Handelabra Games created official Steam Game (at, which is also available on other platforms, such as Android and iOS, to support the Handelabra team. Not only have they allowed us to have this mod available on Tabletop Simulator, but they have also created such a great digital version of Spirit Island, with features such:
-automated Invader Phases
-original dynamic music
-unique Presence for each Spirit
-online multiplayer accessibility (even cross-platform)
-and more

This is an unofficial Spirit Island mod of the Board Game "Spirit Island" by R. Eric Reuss, and contains Branch & Claw, Jagged Earth, and Feather & Flame expansions.

Many features of this Spirit Island mod are scripted, and/or are quality of life features:
-Remaining up-to-date on errata'd changes (e.g. +1 Blight on the Blight Card due to!one-more-blight-errata )
-Optional "Exploratory" changes to the game, which are too speculative for offical Playtesting, however Eric is still interested in how it affects game play (reports can be shared in the Discord linked below)
-Automatic setup of the Island Boards
-Automatic setup of various Decks
-Automatic Fear Card gaining
-Automatic Difficulty calculation
-The tracking of Elements and Energy cost for the Power Cards played
-A helpful UI containing a Turn Order, any additional Adversary rules and much more
-Support for homebrew Spirits and Adversaries (see the notebook for a template)
-Randomisers for Adversary, Island Board layout, and Spirits
-Coloured Invader pieces to indicate any Adversary rules

This was based on Bone White's mod also of Spirit Island, but with many improvements.

If you're looking for a place to find others to play Spirit Island, there's a discord just for that!

---- Summary of the Game ----

In this game you play as vast Spirits guarding Spirit Island - which you inhabit - there are intruding colonists, who are attempting to harm the land, and your goal is to prevent that in whatever way possible. Spirits can do this through defending the land, directly attacking the invaders, asking the native "Dahan" for help, or even harming the land, to heal at a later date.

A key part of being these spirits, is learning new abilities, through the gaining Power Cards, and in the process Forgetting old Powers. This makes it so, by the end of the game, each player may have developed a brand new set of skills to work with.

The invaders actions are fairly predictable, each turn they perform three steps, harming the land, building new Towns/Cities, and then finally Exploring further into the island, due to this pattern, players are able to develop strategies in advance.

There are adversaries which you can choose from to make the invaders a greater threat - currently there are seven, Brandenburg-Prussia, England, Sweden, France, Habsburg, Russia and Scotland, based on an alternate history set in the 1700/1800s - these add different features to the game, spicing it up for players who want a challenge.

@Chu that's a minor power card in the JE set. the power card will be dealt to you after selecting the aspect and starting the game

Not sure if it has been noticed but reporting a missing card:
- Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares (Aspect: Violence) is missing "Bats Scout Raids by Darkness"

@LazarusGlaz if you hover over the exploratory checkbox during setup it has more info, some of the older exploratory content doesn't have watermarks, but i've asked for newer ones to include it

@Hoodie_Sticks way back when i first implemented the other 3 2 board setups i talked with MJ and at the time we only wanted to show the setup options that appeared in the JE rulebook. besides manually setting up the island that way, you can access them by passing in json config with them set that way (which was at least added so that we would be compatible with reddit community challenges)

@AbnaDinn i'm not seeing the issue on my end so i'd recommend reloading the mod, copy pasting the card, and maybe checking your physics settings

The Sun-bright Whirlwind starter card "Scatter to the Winds" doesn't seem to drop to the table when played/moved, which doesn't have tons of impacts but does mean its elements don't get added to the element tallies.

It seems like there are some board layouts missing from the list. I wanted to try a 2-player Coastline game, but it isn't there as an option. I can do 3-player Coastline, but not 2. I know the mod has this functionality because it's the Weekly Challenge for this week, so it's strange that it wouldn't show up.

There is a second board for Shadows Flicker Like Flame. It haves more energy, Reclaim One and red text "EXPLORATORY TESTING". What does it mean? Like some kind of beta test?
Also, i don't know why some spirits have second boards (without red text), is it legal to use them?
P.S. Big thanks for this awesome workshop mod

Hold alt+shift to see the back of your card.

Hihi, I'm not familiar with Tabletop simulator usage and thus forgive me if I asked some stupid questions. I had started a one player game and the board is setup properly except that my presence is not been placed... I want to flip over the spirit card to see where to place my presence... How do I do it? Although I have the physical copy and can find the actual spirit, however I rather not touch my physical copy. Thanks in advance

@Ragenarok the hiding of spirits is based on the rules required to play them not what expansion they are from. Unchecking Jagged Earth for example will hide all spirits which use Badlands
Ragenarok Apr 9 @ 11:46pm
Hiding spirits from certain expansions seem to not be working correctly since the introduction of Nature incarnate. There also isn't a filter for Far Horizons.
