Laevateinn Fast Attack Craft

The LÆVATEINN fast attack craft (FAC) is a small, fast, agile and offensive warship armed with 200mm rocket launchers, 25mm gatling guns and a selection of turrets. This ship is not jump-capable and therefore limited to short-range operations. However, the LÆVATEINN is able to operate both in space and planetary gravity, coming with an adequate storage of fuel.

This item is survival-ready! It is fully conveyed, thruster-damage compatible and uses no mods.

The LÆVATEINN-class was developed in conjunction with the Skofnung-class multi-role frigate in order to provide an escort-vessel to back up the Skofnungs lacking combat-capabilities. Therefore the FAC was optimized to perform short-range patrols and intercept incoming vessels that might penetrate the fleets outer defense perimiter.

While not being able to jump on its own, the LÆVATEINN comes with a landing-gear that allows the craft to be quickly attached to larger vessels and piggyback for long-distance travel.

Being an all-offensive platform, the LÆVATEINNs hull is bullet-shaped, coming with a multi-layered bulkhead of light armor, while other sections remain mostly unprotected. To make up for its lack of defenses, LÆVATEINN features high acceleration, quick turning and a well spread out armament, which consists of two 200mm missile turrets, two 25mm gatling turrets and four 5.56mm Interior turrets for point defense. primary weapon systems include two fixed 200mm rocket launchers and an advanced rotor-hardpoint with an optional 6 x 25mm-gatling-battery.

Two large and six small Hydrogen-tanks provide enough fuel to keep the LÆVATEINN running even when performing intensive maneuvers. The vessel has enough capacities to dive down to a planets surface, perform multiple strikes against ground targets and return to orbit. While the ship is designed for zero-gravity environments, it is also capable to work entirely on a planets surface.
