解説
UPDATE 1.1.4:
It is recommended to use MSAA as AA option, since this is the only way that GEM FX can still retrieve information to calculate lightning effects properly.

This mod attempts to enrich the in-game atmosphere by adding new and changing existing effects in the X4 effect pipeline, such as
  • improved FXAA
  • new lens effects
  • improved light effects
  • cinematic effects
  • texture filters (currently removed based on user feedback)
  • LUT framework to allow creation and sharing of Color Correction modes

Since the mod does not require any third party tools
  • gemfx has near to no impact on performance due to having no overhead
  • gemfx effects are not applied to the UI due to being part of the existing pipeline
  • gemfx can be considered safe to use due to not running any external binaries
  • gemfx allows toggle effect options through in-game menu

I N S T A L L A T I O N

Select any of the Colour Correction presets from the ingame Graphics Settings to enable/tweak gemfx effects.
Enable Distortion Option in the ingame Graphics Settings.

Q: Does this mod impact my games performance?
A: With the currently implemented effects, the performance hit is marginal at best.

Q: Does this mod require any third party app like Reshade or ENB?
A: No, the mod operates simply on already existing but modified game files.

Q: Is there any option to tune or disable certain gemfx effects?
A: Yes, select any of the preset Color Correction modes or create your own via gemfx LUT framework.

Issue: white / black screen (bleeding)
Fix: enable distortion option from the ingame Graphics Settings

Issue: visible scanlines on planet surface
Fix: The effect has been tuned down but can also be disabled in the ingame options by selecting the appropriate Color Correction mode

Update:
The relevant shader code moved and changed a lot, so while it is possible to migrate the mod, it will take some time and effort to do so.

Overwriting shader files in mods seems to crash the game since 7.0 and is likely not on my end.
I shared the issue on the Egosoft/X4 discord. Let's see if any dev can help.

I would like to have more time looking at it but I am super occupied with modding Pharaoh at the moment.

Let me try to find some slot soon to have a look at it again (need to get used to the modding tools again as well)
