"If you can code it {to display random speech bubbles while on the comms} or know anyone who can feel free to hit me up any time"
I just discovered the SpeakUp and Interaction Bubbles mods. And it had me wondering: Shouldn't using these two mods make it possible to produce dialog bubbles for this mod, while colonists are chatting on the comms for joy withOUT a need for programming in C# to create a .DLL?
SpeakUp even has a Wiki: https://github.com/sergiodinapoli/SpeakUp/wiki
And it looks like it allows coding dialog speech bubbles using only mostly standard .XML code.
I agree! Though, instead of actual chat bubbles, I'd even be happy to see little emoji bubbles like we see in the modified "screenshot" above. (I was so disappointed to learn that those emoji bubbles were lies. )
But, the mod author explained that this is difficult to do and would require someone with more programming skills to make that happen.
Kinda like how in The Sims where you use the phone or computer to chat with people online and if you build a strong friendship, you could either invite to visit you or move in with you.
That would be so cool.
