'Allo 'Allo! Portrait Mod

'Allo 'Allo! Portrait Mod adds 13 new operatives, 3 generals and 1 field marshal to France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. It includes most of the original characters from a British WW2 sitcom 'Allo 'Allo!, each with their own fitting personality traits.

You will enjoy this mod to the fullest while playing as an Allied or Axis spy master, preferably Germany, the United Kingdom or France.

Please note that this is my first mod and even though I think it came out pretty nice, there is definitely room for improvement.

I tried to give each character a set of traits that would reflect their role in the series. Here are some examples:

René Artois (Natural Orator, Seducer)
René always manages to talk himself out of the most ridiculous situations a café owner in occupied France could get into, he is really a natural orator. There are very few women (and german panzer officers) who could resist the charm of this master seducer.

Michelle of the Resistance (Linguist, Escape Artist, Infiltrator, French and English Nationality)
Michelle is the best secret agent France has to offer. She is a natural linguist speaking fluent French and English with a mind full of plans of how to return the British pilots back to the other side of the English channel. She is able to disappear like a shadow into the darkness, a true infiltrator. Listen very carefully though, she shall explain her flawless plans only once!

Roger Leclerc (Safe Cracker, Infiltrator)
Monsieur Leclerc is a well known burglar and forger. His work includes several copies of the Fallen Madonna by van Clomp, an exploding false nose and breaking into a safe in Dijon (in the mustard factory). Participating in these dangerous operations often requires the best of disguises. But don’t worry, you can always recognize this agent by his inconspicuous phrase „It is I, Leclerc.“

Lieutenant Gruber (Armor Officer, Panzer Leader, Panzer Expert, Winter Specialist)
Gruber’s experience as a tank commander on the eastern front makes him the very best the german army has to offer in terms of armored combat. While assigning him his own army don’t forget to include some armored cars or „ze little tanks“ as Gruber would say.

Colonel von Strohm (Inflexible Strategist, Infantry Officer and Leader, Engineer, Scavenger)
Colonel is not the brightest military strategist there is, once described by general von Klinkerhoffen to be „thick as two short planks.“ His strength lies in the scavenging business or to be more precise: Wherever he goes, there will be no priceless paintings, bars of gold or silver and ancient cuckoo clocks left (oh and maybe some guns, artillery and equipment but who cares about that?).

Herr Flick (Well Groomed, Master Interrogator)
Herr Otto Flick of the Gestapo will be a great asset to your secret agency with his flawless attire, lack of emotions and effective interrogation techniques which include for example „ze truth serum extracted from ze female Patagonian firefly at ze height of ze mating season.“ This agent will perform the best when assigned to the anti-partisan operations with his assistant Herr von Smallhausen (*not actually modelled in-game).

Officer Crabtree (Double Agent, Linguist, English and French Nationality)
Crabtree is the mooster of languages, campletely fluent in English and Fronch and natural in leerning new ones. He is the only new urgent for the United Kingdom, purrfectly fit for sybotage and infulltration mossions in occupied France. With officer Crabtree every Moaning is a Good Moaning.

Captain Bertorelli (Seducer)
Alberto Bertorelli is-a new agent for Italy. No beautiful laydee in Roma can resist-a him and his medals. The advantage of Bertorelli being a spy and not a general is that you can use him while playing as Germany by becoming a spy master for the Axis. Just don’t let him get captured.
What-a mistake-a to make-a!



This mod adds several new characters instead of replacing already existing ones. Therefore you can’t earn any achievements when ’Allo ’Allo! Portrait Mod is active.



Any mod that doesn’t change core mechanics of the new spy system should work just fine, but in case you encounter a problem, please send me a message so I can update this information.

There are some missing characters, namely RAF pilots Fairfax and Carstairs, Madame Fanny La Fan, Ernest Leclerc (brother of Roger), Denise Laroque and General Leopold von Flockenstuffen.

I will eventually try to snap some good photos of them from my DVD copy of the series, as most of them don’t have good pictures on the internet. This means I could also update already existing pictures.

I might even try to work on some custom events, for example creating a communist France would give you access to Denise Laroque (member of the communist resistence).

I would also like to learn how to increase the number of recruitable spies, so that you can have the whole village of Nouvion working as spies for you ;)



First of all, thank You for checking this out.

Before La Resistance came out, I was hoping that we would get some in-game easter egg referencing this ingenious TV series. Maybe an event that would spawn Michelle or René for us to use as spies, or at least a news event announcing the occupation/liberation of Nouvion. Now that La Resistance is out, we have two steam achievements (which are still great) and that’s it.
Thus I decided to learn how to mod citizens of Nouvion into the game myself.

I would like to once again thank Crimson_Nomad, whose straightforward and easy-to-follow modding guide helped me with creating this mod.
