Description

Locusts Hungry. Cicada sings.


This is the beginning of an insect themed animal mod. It is my first Rimworld mod. So, be patient with me and, please, let me know if you have any advice, suggestions, thoughts.


Currently includes

  • Very hungry locusts

  • Singing cicadas

  • Mosquitoes. Feisty mahfkas.
    -Harvest mosquito stingers for a unique weapon.
    -Synthesize mosquito toxin for a poison.

  • Crispy Cricket Snacks made from the locust's meat.

  • Chitin-a resource harvested from insects.
  • Reinforced Chitin-Stronger than basic chitin.

  • Ticks.

  • Tick Armor set.

Things I have planned

  • Spawn infestation event

  • Termites; careful with those wood walls...

  • Something that comes from the sea with a plasteel exoskeleton.

  • Butterflies???

  • Teeny tiny ants.

  • RimRaid (Bug Spray) [Half done]

  • An automated bug-spray turret.

  • Unique Armor set made from Insect Chitin.

  • Big Mantis
    -Harvest their fore-arms for a unique weapon.

  • Something from below....

Also, if you have bug spray, I'd like to design the logo and sprite for Rim Raid, if possible!

When you talk of infestations, I hope you mean Locusts crawling out of Hives along with Mega Spiders and Spelopedes!

It's going to be a little wile yet, I've got a couple other projects in line first plus my real job, but there will eventually be an overhaul of this mod and several different "infestations" are planned. Stay tuned!

I recommend that you tie Locusts to Infestations. I'd love to see them spawn and threaten my crops if they wait too long! They spawn with normal Infestations, except unlike normal Infestations, they immediately travel outside and eat your crops. They should be able to travel thorough outside doors. As always, if the Hives are not destroyed in time, more will come.

Hey, I'm glad people are still interested in this mod. I've mentioned before that I'm still working on updates. However, I've decided that the best course of action would be to completely overhaul the mod (start over from the beginning.) This will allow me to, not only make it more efficient, but also to finally incorporate some of the more complicated elements I've wanted to add for some time. (See: termites and ant infestations.)

Anyway, if anyone needs a 1.2 update in the meantime, just ask. Otherwise, I will re-release this mod at some point in the future (could take a few months.)

@Mr. Icebarge, Let me know any feedback you have. I've been quite busy with some of my other mods and work on this one has slowed down a bit. But I do plan an update at some point in the future to really take this mod up a notch. This was my first RW mod so, I've learned a lot since it first came out and now I can make some really good improvements to it.
