BulletRebalance

Description
This mod changes the default damages of a few vanilla bullets to be slightly more sane. Many bullets in vanilla for some reason do identical damage, and some do *way* too much damage.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q8CA1Pu3iQoWQYj1MdU5fJe0VSycvQPY5KjOqF3_Qws/edit?usp=sharing Here is a spreadsheet showing the vanilla -> new damages. Rows marked in red means there is no change, rows marked green are values changed by this mod.

hey there, love the mod, but dont see anything regarding hosters addinf to a server pack, would it be alright as long as proper credit is given in description and a readme in pack?

Yeah the penetration is also a factor in *lower* damage vs unarmored. A bullet that stops inside you is much more devastating than a bullet that passes through.

Yeah I know its a fat, slower bullet but the bullet is designed to be subsonic but still penetrate armor very well.

The 9x39 sp6 cartridge is capable of piercing 8 mm steel at 100 m, 6 mm steel or 2.8mm titatium or 30 layers of kevlar at 200 m, 2 mm steel at 500.

The “BP (AP)” bullet provides breaking through of a steel sheet with a thickness of 7 mm made of steel of grade St.3 at a distance of 100 m.

For comparison, 5.56 caliber m995 ammo penetrates 12mm of steel at 100m.

Dont get me wrong, the bullet balance is amazing (in my opinion) I just hope that the 9x39 at least has its penetrating abilities that it should have (I can understand the lower HP damage).

It's slightly bigger but the energy in a 9x39 is only 30% that of the 7.62x39, and velocity is only about 40%

Only thing i`d suggest is buffing the 9x39 Caliber, its a bigger bullet than the 7.62x39 so its been kinda nerfed way too much...

Really cant understand delusional people sometimes, people complaining about 9mm being bad against armored players etc...since when regular fmj rounds of 9mm were any good against armor even in real life? Did anyone ever watched a video about different calibers vs armor? Some armors nowadays can even tank a 7.62×51 up close and you're whining about 9mm being bad against armor, 9mm wont even drop an un-armored person in 1 or 2 shots most of the time if it doesnt hit a vital area...quit being deluded this mod is amazing and makes the gun play make way more sense, especially the fact the 5.45, 5.56 and 7.62 had the same damage for some dumb reason and the 9x39 doing way too much dmg so this mod fixes it.

If BI developers had not been too lazy to use a multitude of available real world data ( One Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_factor_(shooting_sports)#Examples_of_different_loads ) they might have had something more accurate for bullet damage.
Note in this example that a standard load .357 has less impact damage than a .45, but a magnum .357 does slightly more damage. It would then seem that the best way to account for this would be to take the weight and fps into account and give the .45 a higher impact/shock and the .357 a bit more HP.
Perhaps if the devs included a 'knock-back' factor, where an attacking player or Z would be knocked-back and stunned for a moment by a non-lethal hit from something with a heavy power factor... That first round from your .45 might not kill it, but by gosh it gives you a split second to squeeze off a couple more. That would be realistic.

In real life a .357 is overkill against unarmored humans, it's a game round more then anything. A 9mm will drop a person in one shot no problem. To look at it simply if they wear body armor, bring a rifle, if they wear a plate carrier bring a rifle with AP ammo, otherwise you won't get past the armor.
