Description
Departing from my recent replica binge, this started out as a simple drivetrain mockup and it morphed into this mediumheavy hauler. Wanted to make a simple truck chassis merging the designs a few of my favorite mining vehicles, primarily the WTW220E and a generic underground mining truck.
Should be fully operational for survival, and doesn't take much to blueprint out either as the only subgrids are the drills and their strobes.

Designed to be skeletal and low for easy repair without a jetpack, uses ICE for fuel, no uranium needed. Doesn't have much waste blocks :)

DAS - script is included to automatically balance out wheel suspension and behaviour. Speed is capped at 5 kmh (yes, you read that right, mammoth is slow) to enable smooth grading. You can disable the Programmable block and override speed when you're out of the cut.

The Mammoth in use is SLOW, it turns like a bastard, and doesn't like going downhill too fast. But it does have silly horsepower and carrying capacity thanks to 12 large containers (small ship) powered by a V12 and 2 batteries for grid overload buffer. Tested to operate fine fully laden with stone on Mars and Earth.

Remove the drills and storage and you have a capable truck base for other needs. Might make variants of this chassis in the future

WARNING HOX ALERT WHATEVER
+++ DO NOT BACK DOWN INTO YOUR PATH IF YOU'VE STOPPED MID-GRADING+++ Doing this will 99% get you stuck from your front lip. Call it bad design, cause it is. Keep driving and turn off the drills before stopping! Don't extend the pistons if you are afraid of this outcome. Working on an improved version of this concept!

I don't see why not. I like to make my planetary vehicles run on H2 because I love the engine sound and lack of uranium kinda sucks but if you have the option go for it!

from what i gather, i can retrofit this to run on reactors? My H2 stores are really low and i dont want to dump ice into an engine that will just obliterate it.

Cool lunar ice miner.

Grading as in road flattening is indeed absolutely useless in this game. Unless of course you like to pretty up your bases... for that there are better graders on the workshop. I think you're best off using this as a surface miner, can never have enough stone to process through for metals :)

If I am sincere, I do not find a practical utility to the mechanics of gradding (I may not know how to find it), but as a medium-sized vehicle it is very good!

Looks solid, but reminds me of a street sweeper... Only for stone. Good work.
