This mod adds a particular animal that is sorely lacking in the rim: The marten!

These amazing mustelids needed to be added, and so that's why this mod exists! I've got a few plans for the mod going forward, so it's not done just yet! But the basics are ready to go, so enjoy!

- Beech Marten
- Japanese Marten
- Nilgiri Marten
- Pine Marten
- Rim Marten - A special mutt of the other martens that evolved here on the rim!
- Sable
- Yellow-Throated Marten
- Megamartens - A megasloth/marten hybrid of casual deadliness!
- Boommarten - A predator with an explosive personality!
- Perhaps too much in-game description for most!

To Do:

- Add Megamartens! Giant beastly martens for riding or carrying supplies!
- Clean up chemical spill in marten observation chambers
- Spruce up the mod page
- Find Eggs
- Devour Eggs
- Pester Yap about Marten Morphs for Pawnmorpher
- Dook at Ironwolf until he pesters Yap too
- Add Marten Nests (longterm idea)
- Add Mutagenic fangs
- Motorcycle
- Add Sounds

Known Issues:

- Some balancing may need to be done
- There's a strange graphical glitch on my PC with the martens when the game is played at 1080p, but it's fine at higher resolutions, including 4k. If you run into the poor quality, please report it!

@Vorticough That is actually automatically generated by the game. That said, if you want to go that route, they're much better for their fur. I based it on real life, marten fur is one of the most protective there is. While there's no IRL comparison for the thrumbo, I put them just below the thrumbo in terms of warmth and protection. They are also highly valuable for said fur.

That all said, I'd rather you NOT try to farm them... They are very useful in combat as even in real life, martens are able to take on prey much larger than themselves, the yellow-throated marten has even been documented to prey on humans. Thus I made their combat capabilities reflect this.

how much meat do they provide

A note to our investors: The boomarten was not a sanctioned creation of ZGF Science Labs, Inc and the perpetrator has been dealt with to the fullest extent of Rim Law. These creatures are being studied and contained after their recovery from the ruins of Outpost 6-B and great efforts are being made to ensure they do not escape from containment. We are also pleased to announce that local law enforcement officials have contracted us for undisclosed projects and as a result, despite the increased security and containment procedures we've enacted since the destruction of Outpost 6-B, we are anticipating record profits!

A warm welcome back to the ZGF Marten-Based Research and Analysis Department of ZGF Science Labs, Inc! Our scientists have been long at work studying these incredible creatures in their new habitats on the Rim and discovered some surprising information regarding the previously-confirmed hypotheses in relation to their behavior. It seems that martens are not quite as agile upon these outer planets as we had believed prior.
