How to set up Oculus Link And use it with SteamVR

So, you bought an oculus quest and/or sufficient cable for link. This guide will teach you how to set it up to play.

Downloading And installing the Oculus Software
This section will show you how to download and install the oculus software. Go to the Oculus Rift S Setup website [www.oculus.com] To download the installer, The website should look like this: Once the download is complete, open up the installer and follow the on screen prompts, the installer will download 7GB download as of writing. This may take a certain amount of time depending on your internet speed. Once that is done, follow the on screen prompts to sign in or sign up. Once that task is completed, oculus should load into a screen that looks something like this:
Connecting your Oculus Quest With Link Cable
This section will teach you how to set up your oculus quest and link cable
Text in Bold are crucial parts of setting up link to play. Not doing them or not doing them correctly will result in oculus link not working.
You must put your cable in a USB 3.0 port, they usually appear blue like the picture below, the black ones are usb 2.0 and won't work.EDIT: 2.0 support was released last year.
If your oculus link cable works, it will appear as the following:

once you have connected a cable that works and you finished the setup the folowing picture is displayed:
How to download and install games through steam
This section will show you how to download and install games.
For steam, you need to go to the store page of the game, for example, Beat Saber.
Click on the text in this guide to be taken to Beat saber's storepage. To purchase it, do the same as you would a normal game. Once purchased, install it the same way you would a normal game, To play it, install SteamVR
Once both of the downloads are completed, put on your headset, launch up the game, which oculus will load into steamvr and into the game, Congratulations! You have successfully installed oculus, a game, and steamvr and are ready to play! Have fun in vr!

@Miles4Daze, if its white, or grey, its usb 2.0, it works, but the best performance, you can get from a usb 3.0 port.

Depends, if you're playing a steamvr game (so purchased on steam) it should show, if you're playing a game purchased on oculus, then no, it won't show, and there's no way to link your steam account with your oculus account, sorry for the wait.

get e usb to usb c cable and install sidequest and use sidequest to install virtual desktop there as well, you will now be able to play vr games in vd.

I did all of this and everything works up until I launched a game then it says wrong graphics card please use the same graphics card that you're display monitor uses, but the sound works just fine in the headset. The laptop that I'm using is asus 15.6 tuf gaming laptop with a 8 core amd ryzen processor, with 16gb of ram, and a nvidia 2060 rtx graphics card. I use a USB c to usb a to connect the headset to the laptop. I even went into the nvidia control panel and assigned my steam games to use that dedicated graphics card and I still have the same error.
