One of the first truly well rounded fighters of the No Holds Barred era of MMA, The King of the Streets, Marco Ruas combined hard kicks and skillful leglocks in his own hybrid Vale Tudo style.

Ruas trained in a number of styles including Luta Livre, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Capoeria. This combination alowed him to win the UFC 7 tournament, beating the massive Paul Varelans in the finals, and earn wins over Gary Goodridge, Keith Hackney and Pat Smith.
