Bedford Junction Branch

Description
The Bedford Junction Branch is a 30-mile Train Simulator route created by High Iron Simulations to represent a typical U. S. Midwestern railroad line as might be found in southern Indiana or southern Illinois. It re-creates a rural region that features granger, industrial, quarry, and coal elements set amid farmland and rolling, sometimes rugged countryside.

While the free-lance route is most representative of a Norfolk Southern secondary line, it can as easily represent a variety of other railroads, present and past, that do or have operated in the area, including CSX, Southern, Chessie, Seaboard System, Illinois Central, Missouri Pacific, several regional roads or even, with a bit of era creative licensing, classic railroads such as the Pennsylvania or New York Central.

For assets employed in the Bedford Junction Branch, the route requires two Dovetail Games Train Simulator routes: the Norfolk Southern Coal District and the D&RGW Soldier Summit route.

The two end point terminals of the Bedford Junction Branch are Bedford Junction Yard, situated along the route's dual-track main line and located a short distance from Bedford Junction, where the featured branch line then extends 26 miles to Gosport, which is home to a large rail-to-river coal and aggregates transloading facility.

The Bedford Junction Branch is a freight-only route and, in addition to featuring heavy coal movements from Bedford Junction Yard to Gosport, it hosts a range of local freight and lineside switching opportunities. At track speed (typically 40 mph), a run over the length of the line (excluding lineside switching en route) requires approximately 50 minutes. As a secondary line with heavy coal movements, the route main stem is signaled and equipped with automatic switches.

Operational locations and online shippers on the Bedford Junction Branch route include:

Bedford Junction Yard, primary yard and engine house.
Bedford Junction, junction of main line and Bedford Junction Branch.
Thornton, Thornton Petroleum, Thornton Supply.
Bedford, Bedford Petroleum, Bedford Ag Products.
Mitchell, Passing track and Mitchell Industrial Spur, home to Michell Manufacturing, Mitchell Petroleum, Mitchell Agricultural Supply, and Mitchell Aggregates.
Steinsville, crossing with railroad at grade, interchange, small yard, and Steinsville Transload.
Leipsic, Leipsic Lumber.
Gravel Pit, Gravel Pit Aggregates and Quarry.
Gosport, Engine terminal, passing track, storage track, coal unloading track at Gosport Rail-to-River Transload

High Iron Simulations will provide a variety of Steam Workshop free scenarios to accompany the Bedford Junction Branch route.

Our sincere thanks to Michael Stephan for his advice and beta testing.

FubyDoo: Sorry to hear about the issue. Alas, not sure what to recommend, but you might send a request to DTG customer service, as it seems like it is an issue with Steam not recognizing that you own the routes.

While your sale came up..I ventured back to this freebie.. which requires two dovetail routes.. which I own.. and as before.. it still does not recognize that I own them.. a bit frustrating.. even for free.

Where did you get Marias from so recently?

I noticed some of those first, in fact! I have a few of your other scenario packs I'll eventually get to, as well. Not to mention all the free scenarios I can play here. I was able to acquire Marias Pass and can now play those, too.

Cyclone: Thanks and enjoy the route. I've created quite a range of scenarios for the route which are available at Steam Workshop as well.
