Description

When I saw 네인 | neinnew's amazing Fountain 12.23 (Animated), I was inspired to create the Wasserkaskaden am Fernsehturm (Water Cascade at the TV Tower) in Berlin. 네인 | neinnew was kind enough to share his source files with his animated fountain jets. Figuring out the tech of the vertex-painted model with sequenced UV mapping on the textures was part of the fun of this.

The asset includes three sub-meshes and some hidden prop markers that I found accidentally:

1. rotor-shader water with heavy normal-map and shine
2. first batch of animated water jets (tall ones)
3. second batch of animated water jets (tightly-bunched groups)
4. 8 hidden "Pool Steam" effects markers

Main model TRIS: 2,108
maps: 1024x1024 (diffuse, normal)
LOD tris: 172
maps: 128x128 (diffuse)

rotorshader water TRIS: 844
maps: 256x256 (diffuse, normal, specular)
first animated jets TRIS: 7,400
maps: 256x2048 (diffuse, alpha)
second animated jets TRIS: 2,754
maps: 1024x2048 (diffuse, alpha)

You can toggle the jets by turning the building on and off. This asset is not lighted. I expect you to prop-light this asset to your taste, and I recommend using my new Fountain light set. This is the fifth of seven special #PDXCON2019 releases. Enjoy!

Is there a possibility of making a single animated jet prop from this fountain?

In picture number 4, in the upper right corner, you can see part of a building. Do you know the name of this building?

Heh glad you like it. I can say that I did go a bit overboard with the animations on this one... I was experimenting, learning, having fun. But to add those animated bits that look like splashes in the pools, I added a ton of triangles. This fountain has way more animated triangles than the original fountain by neinnew. So I wouldn't be surprised if it put a ton of stress on an already heavily active scene in your build

This looks fantastic, this is a beautifully animated fountain! I do have an issue with it when putting it into my mod-heavy workshop-enabled game, however. The animation works flawlessly when I drop it into my basic no workshop version but for some reason it stays on a single frame with my heavily modded game. I have 네인 | neinnew's "Fountain 12.23 (Animated)" which does work on my workshop-enabled game and was wondering if there are any known incompatibilities with this fountain and other mods/etc. without having to dissect my mod setup. Thanks for your contributions to the community!

there is also a rotor-shader LOD mod by TPB that you could try: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=922939393

@LemonsterOG I haven't noticed any flickering (usually "z-fighting"...two textures on top of each other) at any range and I check my LODs. But this asset has 3 sub-meshes so it may introduce new problems. To try to debug this we would need to look at your entire mod setup. A first step that you could make is to try it in vanilla and see it has the same issue
