Operation Valkyrie Focus Mod (Alpha 0.22)

Beschreibung
*Updated to 1.12.*

As I was pretty annoyed by constantly having to look at Hitlers stupid face, I used a week of internet downtime to do this.

Current Features:

  • "Operation Valkyrie" focus, requirements are "War with the Soviet Union" focus and being at war with the USA and the Soviet Union. Besides the event "Operation Valkyrie successful!" it gives 250 Political Power, -20% Stability & -15% War Support.
  • Triggers event "Operation Valkyrie successful!" that kills Hitler, gives you a choice between Feldmarschall Rommel (traits: Cornered Fox & Nationalist Symbol) and General Ludwig Beck (Great War Hero & Retired Officer), establishes a new party named Militärregierung (military government) as new ruling party (no voting, nonaligned) and changes party influence substantial.
  • Unlocks a new political advisor to replace Walther Funk, makes other nonaligned advisors available despite not having completed the alt-history tree.


Advice:
Available in English and German (partially, German needs an update)!
Not compatible with mods that alter the German focus tree! Expert AI etc. should work, but as this is an early alpha I don't know yet how the AI and other focuses interact with the "Valkyrie" changes.
Please report anything strange you notice!


Planned features:

  • Probably an additional alternative leader, Goerdeler.
  • A National Spirit that represents the takeover of the government by the military. Probably split between two focuses, the first one triggers Valkyrie, gives political power, a huge hit on stability but also grants the National Spirit "Military Government" with bonuses for the military or something like that.
  • The second one unlocks decisions through which one is able to reduce the influence of the remaining NS supporters and gains back stability as probably also a research boost due to returning NS opposing scientists.
  • Probably a peace option for the Western Allies, something along the line of France (minus Alsace-Lorraine), Belgium, Netherlands, Norway being freed, Czechia, Denmark and Poland getting guarantees to become independent nations after a victory in the east (with the option to break the treaty, follow the treaty or securing influence aka making them puppets).
  • Last but not least the option of a NS uprising, all recuited Waffen-SS divisions will rebel and at known, historical NS hotspots in Germany NS militia divisions will spawn, turning the homefront into a battlezone.

@Lois Griffin Rommel was part of a list compiled by the Anti-Hitler Resistance as a potential Reichprasident for after the military takeover. As well as this he was mentioned by co-conspirators during interrogations by the Gestapo. He may not have been involved in the plot beyond correspondences with some of the plotters but he did not approve of Hitler's handling of the war. Not to mention his supposed involvement in the plot was the whole reason he was forced to commit suicide. Rommel's inclusion makes sense on the basis of the resistance group holding him in high regard for his popularity among the people, hence why his decision has him becoming leader based on his popularity.

Sorry, currently exclusively working on Ultra Historical Mod, I'll see if I can get this to be compatible with the newest version. Should usually not cause any issues with the current vanilla version though. Will check!

BTW we are making progress on the Ultra Historical Mod update, once that is done I'll go back to modding Valkyrie.

Rommel wasn't really all that involved with the Coup Attempt, and wasn't planned to have any role in the post coup government.So having him be a possible leader post coup seems unrealistic

It probably won't since it changes the vanilla German focus tree, and Road to 56 does the same.
