GENERAL
The UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship is a type of combat utility spacecraft primarily used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps. The Cheyenne is primarily designed to be dropped ventral from most USCM spacecraft while they are in orbit to deliver troops and equipment rapidly to a planet's surface. They typically carry an M577 Light Armored Personnel Carrier, although they can be used to transport other equipment and even Marines directly in the field. The UD-4L has the ability to take off and land vertically from unprepared sites, and can also operate as a ship-to-ship transport. Evolving from refinement of a long line of dropship variants from the original production model of the UD-4B through to the latest UD-4L, the 'Cheyenne' is employed within the United States Colonial Marine Corps as a dropship and transport derived from a Department of Defense requirement following the Teintsin conflict and the recognition that a multi-role light aerospace shuttle was needed for heavy payload lift. As the UD-4 was developed, its ability was expanded to include operation as a close-support gunship, enabling it to become an integral component of the aerospace ground tactical team. Roles such as Assault Transport, CasEvac, Search & Rescue, Forward Supply, Close Air Support, and Reconnaissance are typical mission profiles.

SYSTEMS
  • FIREPOWER
    The craft, although a dropship, carries a respectable payload, doubling as a light gunship with scripted automatic missiles, rockets, and gatling cannons.. Unfolding, safely secured pylons contain a various assortment of critical weaponry available at subsonic velocities.
  • CAPACITY
    Along with the standard complement of personnel and marines, the dropship also comes standard with an retractable docking clamp to tow cargo in excess of ~200,000kg. Such an ability makes the craft perfect for combat drops and even light construction work.
  • RANGE
    Rugged and armored, the dropship can land in any weather and a variety of uneven terrain types with the help of its docking latch, powerful floodlights, and large armored retractable ski struts. The ship comes standard with a survival kit and health shots, further extending its range. The craft is outfitted for atmosphere, but it can maneuver within the vacuum of space, and contains drop assist systems which lend aid in artificial gravity environments.

@wolfstone There's access inside the aft undercarriage landing gear bay, you can only access it (easily) when the landing skid is extended outward.

This doesn't use any mods, simply enable super-gridding in world options if you want four extra seats.

To make it vanilla, simply replace the rear gunner's cockpit with armor blocks imitating window. I HIGHLY recommend you purchase the DLC.
