Harley Race

Harley Race is a Hall of Fame wrestler by any standard. The legendary Race worked for the AWA, the NWA, the WWF, and WCW over the course of an in-ring career that lasted over 30 years.

Race got his start in the early 60's, and his career was nearly ended within a few years after a horrific car crash. He made his way to the AWA in 1965, was billed as "Handsome" Harley Race, and teamed up with Larry Hennig. Throughout the 70's and early 80's, Race bounced around NWA territories and held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on eight occassions before leaving for the WWF.

In the WWF, Race quickly established himself as a star by winning the King of the Ring tournament in 1986. "King" Harley Race wrestled for the WWF for a few years, but injuries began to sideline him towards the end of the decade. Race made a comeback in WCW in 1990, but transitioned into mostly a manager role after another injury later that year.

Race has been inducted into multiple promotions' Hall of Fame, including the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
