This guide describes the best method for adding radio streams and music tracks to «Euro Truck Simulator 2».

Adding radio streams

Windows

Open folder C:\Users\[User_Account]\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2. This folder contains file live_streams.sii. Open it using your favorite text editor (e.g. Notepad, Notepad++, WordPad). In this file you can add as many radio streams as you want; to do this, follow these steps:

• 1. Copy string stream_data[]: "URL of mp3 live stream|My Radio" and paste it under stream_data: xx or under a similar string if other radio streams have already been included. If file live_streams.sii is original then just remove # symbol before the string.
  
  
• 2. Substitute URL of mp3 live stream for the URL of radio stream. Then substitute My Radio for the radio title as you want to see it in-game.
  

  Warning:
  1. Numbers of radio streams must always be in order (e.g. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
  2. Radio stream and radio title must be separated by symbol "|".
  3. String stream_data: xx must contain the correct sum of streams. (e.g. if numbers of radio streams go from 0 to 5 then the string must look like this stream_data: 6.)
  

  
  
• 3. After you've added the desired radio stream, save the file and close it. Launch the game and open the Music menu. Inside the Radio stream tab you should see the radio stream that you've just added to the file. Double-click the new radio stream to play it.
  

  Warning:
  1. If the game freezes after you access the Music menu, open file live_streams.sii and check the correct spelling of streams.
  2. If you see question marks instead of radio titles inside the Radio streem tab, you should change text encoding to UTF-8 in file live_streams.sii.
  

Changing the encoding:

In order to change the text encoding to UTF-8 in file live_streams.sii you need to:

• Option A. Open file live_streams.sii using Windows Notepad. Click menu File and select Save as. Towards the bottom of the opened window choose encoding UTF-8 and click Save replacing the original.
  
  
• Option B. Open file live_streams.sii using Notepad++. Click menu Encoding and select Encode in UTF-8. Save file replacing the original.

Supported streams:

The game supports all MP3 streams (excluding MMS). With all the proper codecs, which are, most probably, already installed on your computer, you can listen to streams encoded in various other formats.

Adding music tracks

Windows

If you want to add music tracks to the game, you have 2 options:

• Option A. Open folder C:\Users\[User_Account]\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\music and copy tracks inside.
  
  
• Option B. Create a shortcut of your music folder, cut it and paste into folder C:\Users\[User_Account]\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\music.
  

  Warning:
  1. If the music folder is located on a network drive, music tracks won't show up in-game.
  

After you've added selected music tracks and/or shortcuts, launch the game and open Music menu. Inside Music player tab you should see a list of added music tracks. Double-click a music track to play it.

⚠️ Attention
When adding music, some or all tracks may in some cases not play and be skipped. This issue can be fixed if all tags are deleted from all added tracks. To bulk-remove tags, use Mp3tag[www.mp3tag.de]. This will also take care of tracks that have the Hidden flag set in Properties.
