DESCRIPTION

Greetings, folks!

This mod is a slightly modified version of the WOTC SMG Mod made to ensure better compatibility and add an additional feature.

The changes are:
  • Renamed the templates from "SMG_CV" and so on to "Vee_SMG_CV" and so on. This is to ensure better compatibility with a plethora of mods and/or setups, most notably A Better Barracks (Both the TLP and normal ones).
  • Added an option inside the configuration file to change the weapon category from "rifle" to "SMG", meaning the SMGs will now be treated as their own weapon instead of being treated like a rifle variant. I highly recommend using Open Class Weapon Restriction to configure which classes get access to it, as by default no vanilla class does. Also, this option would probably break RPGO and Stealth Overhaul compatibility (though they should still work).

This mods requires a new game.

+1, it doesn't even show up. Tried to launch game without any other mods on, no effect. Have to use "older version" of this mod.

Im hoping you could explain how one changes the category a weapon belongs i dont want the name change as it messes with the other mods im using that change SMG'sbut ive been desperately trying to find a way to change SMG's to their own weapon category myself.

default setting is fault. edit to true.

@Valvatorez No. Most mods search for template names and this one has different ones. Might change that in the future, but for now, this isn't a suitable replacement.

Can this be used in place of the Long War 2 SMGS for mods that require them?

@CptnHappyTimePie I don't use ABB so I'm not 100% sure this is it, but theoretically you should add this line:

AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="SMG")

Near the similar ones for each class you want to be able to equip SMGs.
