Resolute

Description
Hello,

I imagine that you found yourself here from Deadly Salvage and came here to get yourself a copy. If not, go educate yourself with this fantastic series over at Ball&Chain Gaming.

Regardless, welcome all to this build of the AI ship 'Resolute' in the Deadly Salvage Space engineers series. It might be obvious, but this ship was built for plot purposes and as such is completely unarmed and lacks certain capacities you might expect from a normal ship.

That purpose was to construct AI cores (Remote blocks) for the show. Resolute has NO military capabilities, limited construction and two small grinder droids docked to the sides of the hull.

Be cautioned, this ship uses two small grids as subgrids that wrap around the exterior to the hull. If your computer has a tendency to set itself on fire, reconsider pasting this ship in your favourite world. Mainly due to the fact that this ship has some minor physics hiccups, please consult your doctor if your copy of this ship is; spinning uncontrollably, spewing small blocks in the four cardinal directions, expelling ectoplasm out of the hanger doors, destroying your server/world/computer with ungodly/apocalyptic levels of lag resulting in numerous collisions with other ships triggering one or more of the above listed.

Due to the fact that many have asked about the nature of constructions like this and my other works, I thought I'd explain here. Basically, I've used small grids as sub grids on small rotor heads on a large grid for the purposes of extra detailing. It's relatively simple to do, it just requires patience and an understanding of large and small block physics boundaries.

A personal note from Welp

Hello everyone, I’m a somewhat unknown member of Ball&Chain Gaming discord and I like making pretty ships with small subgrids on large ships in SE. It’s been fantastic chatting to you all in the various areas of discussion on discord.

All of you, and the two creators, are a wonderful bunch of people to converse and share ideas with. In truth, after watching Deadly Salvage, I never imagined that my work would fit in with any YouTube SE series, as most creators have a theme they like to stick with. I can only hope that my rendition of Resolute isn’t too jarring for you all to watch, as it took a while to build.

Perhaps that’s just my anxiety, as I’ve done Collab’s before, but never have I made commission works for anything before. Lastly, I'd just like to thank DE and Nab for inviting me to take part in this incredible series, and to wish you all a pleasant viewing of Deadly Salvage.

Goooood morning, afternoon, or evening!

We are delighted that you are here, checking out the incredible build that Welp made for our series, Deadly Salvage.

When we were writing the script for the season, we knew that we wanted whatever the Awoken built for Resolute to be different than anything else we’d ever made for the series. We wanted it to be beautiful, elegant, and to stand out against our otherwise dark world. The Awoken have a reverence for Resolute, as it has the capability to create more Awoken matrices: something that had stopped with the destruction of Singularity in the AI war. It made sense that Resolute’s hull would be ornamental, almost like a work of art. We could have tried to do it ourselves, but we didn’t trust it to be as lovely or as different as we hoped.

We discovered what we were looking for in Welp’s builds. He is capable of making both functional ships as well as adding incredible detail and artistic structures to those ships. We knew that he would be able to deliver something unique and lovely for Resolute, and did he ever! We are so excited to have been able to have his help in making our character present itself in a way we know it would actually want to be, which has never happened for Resolute before.

The only changes made for the series itself was to paint Resolute’s actual core grey, and to replace the second core on the outside (above the antenna) with a gyroscope. Other than those two things, this blueprint is exactly as you see in Deadly Salvage.

Thank you to everyone who supports us in our creative endeavors, and thank you so very much to Welp for his extraordinary work and time. The details were specific to the world we created, and we feel it is an honor to have been gifted this work for the series. Be sure to check out the rest of his work!
