Signal Leak Hunter

Description
Cheat Less version.
Cheaty version found here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1782011032

DO NOT USE BOTH Signal Link Hunter VERSIONS AT THE SAME TIME
2.60 SAFE
3.00 Beta SAFE

Creates a waypoint to the nearby leaks while in scan mode. Allows player to switch between 3 modes which detect Comm Leaks, Data Leaks, or both. Switch modes by exiting and reactiving scan mode within 8km of a station. Mission info box on bottom left will display the number of leaks remaining on the station, corresponding to the mode you're in.

Activating scan mode near a station displays info on how many leaks there are remaining on the station. The leaks are not waypointed until the player is within 250m of the leak. The audio for leaks starts at 200m, the reason the waypoints start at 200m is because script has a slight delay between distance checks, so when the player is moving the effective detection radius is reduced; a 250m radius gives a fairly good effective radius of 200m when travelling at less than 100m/s. The player can swtich between signal detection modes by reactivating scan mode while within detection radius of a station.

Notes:
-This mod uses mission waypoints, so it will make any current mission inactive when you enter scan mode within 8km of a station or with an in-sector station actively targeted.
-There are vanilla bugs in game that can cause inaccessible leaks, and multiple leaks at one location. This mod does not effect leak spawning in any way.
-Sometimes when you decrypt leaks, you won't get a reward. This is because the game doesn't filter out all previous rewards from the reward result, so you can effectively get nothing. This is also vanilla behaviour, the mod doesn't change leak rewards in any way.

I hope this works for 6.0...

FYI for any bothering to read this and for those complaining about the range, the "cheat" version is what you want, it's the exact same thing just with much longer range, which seems to be what you are wanting...

i agree yo have to get the waypoint, but there is a sound with you are pointing at it. I think that is better, but less cheaty. Us the sound (not the normal sound) to get in range... i like this better

useless, you still need to fly very close almost the same then vanilla, very dissapointing, hope we geht a better one with longer range

If i scan one leak the rest dissappear, is there anyway to stop this?

I would also like to caution those who use it.

This mod doesn't actually show the waypoints until you're quite close to them. The waypoints won't show up at the distance in the above screenshot. This seems to be a normal behavior as a result of the balancing process and not a malfunction of the mod.

Use it by flying over the station at low altitude.

This is a nice mod! even better than I thought. It still working in the current 3.3ver.

Before I used it, I thought it was going to be more of an imbalance, like a cheat mod. But that was a misconception. It certainly makes it easier to find leaks. But it doesn't lose the vanilla play feel. It's a perfect balance.

This seems to no longer function as of 3.10? Worked for me in 3.0 though. Weird.... Not sure otherwise why it's not working as it did before I DL'd the 3.10 patch.

i like this mod. you still need to spend time flying round the stations, but once you get close enough, it will show you where they are. Hit rate is much higher ;)
