Описание
Era - 1990s - Boxing - Heavyweight

Tommy Morrison lived a "permissive, fast and reckless" life, by his own words, co-starring in Rocky V, winning the Heavyweight title, having two active marriages at the same time and boxing after he tested positive for HIV. When outside distractions didn't interfere, "The Duke" had a lethal left hook, brutal combinations and enough skill to survive against George Foreman.

Born in Gravette, Arkansas in 1969, Morrison entered toughman contests at 13, won multiple amateur titles and only missed out on the Olympics when he lost to Ray Mercer in the Trials.

Morrison turned pro in 1988, attracting the attention of Sylvester Stallone with one of his early bouts, spending much of 1990 playing the role of Tommy Gunn in the fifth Rocky movie. Quality wins over James "Quick" Tillis and Pinklon Thomas were earned in '91, along with a loss to his old nemesis, Ray Mercer. A win over Carl "The Truth" Williams and a win over the legendary George Foreman for a vacant piece of the Heavyweight title gave Morrison gold. A loss to Michael Bentt shocked the boxing world, but Morrison was able to go on to beat Razor Ruddock and lose to Lennox Lewis.

By 1996, Morrison had tested positive for HIV, but still attempted to compete, against the advice of doctors and sanctioning commissions.
