"The Starchaser was built as a solid starfighter capable of competing with the Z-95 Headhunter. It had a good balance of speed, weapons and durability, but lacked heavy armor or internal hull bracing, which often made it vulnerable to well-placed enemy hits. It had a slight advantage over the Headhunter with its ion cannons, and in the hands of expert pilots could pose a considerable threat even to newer starfighters, as was the case in the clash between the Rneekii pirates and the Galactic Empire at Kiilimaar."

Another Freelancer ship which showed up to fill out the ranks of the TIE Fighter/X-Wing games, this builds biggest problem and time sink was getting a good look on that shovel nose. A good array of hydrogen thrusters give it good agility, four gatlings (two of which are near centreline) for firepower and a number of atmospheric thrusters underneath to give it decent lift in atmosphere. It's a good, functional build with a nice flat area underneath the cockpit for easy alteration, such as swapping in a turret or adding launchers.
