USS Wasp NCC-223 Wasp class (Star trek star fleet mueseum)

The Wasp class was an exploritory ships that was soppoed to replace the Daedalus class. the ship used a heavly moddified amarillo primary hull design, the warp drive was all contained in a drive section that could be jettisoned that way the primary hull could escape under impulse. The Wasp was supposed to be a warp 5 ship but they wasn't any next gen warp 5 nacelles developed. the opions were the old NX nacelles or three super-lion nacelles. the super-lion nacelles achieved WF 4.6, due to the ships geometry a warp field stabilizer was needed when the next gen warp 5 nacelles the hiryu III warp 5 nacelles came out with the Moskova class in 2177. the Wasp class fell short of its role as an explorer and was refitted in 2180 as a military ship with upgraded phase cannons and photonic torpedos and with two hiryu III it achieved WF 5.1.
