1. The blanket is in the vicinity of Sahelia's Cave.
2. The blanket is in the area with the frog encounter in Sahelia's Cave.
3. The blanket is in Mody's Fort, which is in the area with the frog encounter in Shaelia's Cave. Look for the ladder up to a platform that requires a jump or teleport to get up there.
Google seems to suggest maybe I'm somehow the only person on Earth looking for this—seems inconceivable; maybe I'm weirder/more creative than I thought?—but what about introducing Birdie to Buddy? I get why the base game doesn't let you "save" Emmie—that she's meant to be too far gone to go back. I also get why everyone finds that such an unsatisfying conclusion to such a gut-wrenching quest—no closure, no one moves on. It's reasonable to break our hearts about Emmie, but it's not so reasonable to just leave us heartbroken with no light at the end of the tunnel the way the base game does. But it seems like there's an obvious solution staring us in the face that addresses both the original design and people's dissatisfaction.
Why not introduce Birdie to Buddy? I feel like Buddy and Birdie are perfectly set up to be mates. Buddy is older, maybe wiser, but still kind and overflowing with love that really, desperately needs an outlet. And Birdie really needs someone to love him and be patient with him. Having them become mates would give you the much needed closure on both of these quests. You'd know Birdie has someone to look after him and help him get back on track, and you'd know Buddy isn't alone anymore.
Anyway, I intend to try this mod for my next playthrough, as it seems to be widely acknowledged as the go-to solution for this quest. I just thought I'd toss in my two bits here since it seems like every discussion about this quest anywhere on the interwebs inevitably ends up pointing to this mod.
