Marine Armor Materials

Beskrivning

This is a simple mod that allows you to choose what metal a suit of marine (power) armor is made of, and scales the armor's attributes to that of the material.
Vanilla marine armor is made with plasteel, so I tried to balance this mod against that. The results are that this mod makes plasteel marine armor a little more powerful, but you're not unstoppable. However, it also allows you to make marine armor out of any metal you want, including those introduced by mods.

Balance Notes:
To my knowledge, there's no way to assign individual material values to the different armor values as all values are specified under a single value (StuffEffectMultiplierArmor). As a result, armors that specified a high/low value for the original sharp, blunt, or heat armor types are now specifically tied to a multiplier associated with the material used to create the armor. If you use a material that inherently has a high resistance to heat, the resultant armor will also have a high resistance to heat. Alternatively, if you use a material that has high resistance to sharp damage, but low resistance to blunt damage, the armor will have the same resistances.

tl;dr: New armor values based on material types may differ wildly from the original statically set armor values, but generally make sense with regards to the material used to craft them.

Compatibility:
- This mod is compatible with saved games, but isn't retroactive. Already built power armor will have vanilla stats.
- This mod is NOT compatible with other mods that change the material component of vanilla power armor.
- This mod is compatible with all other mods.

Patches:
This mod also adds the ability to create different material versions for the powered armors in the following mods:
- Royalty DLC
- Vanilla Armour Expanded
- Rimworld: Spartan Foundry
- Jin-Roh Kerberos Panzer Cop Armor
- [LB]Sector VII
- Rimworld: Altered Carbon

If you have an armor mod you'd like added to the compatibility patches, let me know.

2025 and still no other mod that allows us to make Marine armor from choice materials. Still works, still GOAT'd.

Since this mod has been reported working in 1.5 I added it to the No Version Warning-mod

To anyone who comes here to question if it functions, yes it does still work perfectly fine in 1.5, its just not tagged for it.

this mod only uses patches, in theory it should still function in 1.5.

could this mod include vanilla flak gear? (besides the flak helmet, it already lets you select material)
