Description
**Final Update 03/17/19 to fix some minor glitches. Be sure to un-sub and resubscribe before doing any map review**

Backstory:

The year is 2050. High-rent refugees from the city of San Francisco have moved north seeking to keep their California dreams alive. Seeing an opportunity, the city leaders of Eureka launched an unprecedented public works drive to compete with the Bay Area for influence, commerce, and the working classes.

Railways were restored. A new interstate was cut over the mountains to California's fertile Central Valley. US 101 was upgraded and routed under the city center to open development and ease traffic. A new bypass was also constructed to keep cars from clogging the city. A bay-side shoreline was constructed to give the city center more room to grow. The Tillamook River was dammed to form a new reservoir to keep the growing city from going thirsty. A new harbor entrance was created and the north side of Humboldt Bay was dredged to provide international shipping access. The South Harbor was also upgraded. Both harbor entrances got new bridges connecting the full length of the city's coastline.

All that remains to do is find a suitable location to build a new airport and finish the land reclamation project north of the main harbor.

Can you take the reigns of city governance and capitalize on the city's civic investments? Can you make Eureka the new crown jewel of the West Coast?

Seriously, thanks for stopping by. First time map maker here.

This is a Terrain Party map with A LOT of creative license taken. If you've ever been to Eureka or you're from there, you'll know this is mostly fantasy as the backstory above indicates.

I hope this map has enough for everyone (vanilla, 25 tiles, 81 tiles). The map is Industries ready but only Mass Transit DLC is required. I tried to keep the other requirements list down. However, a few very nice assets from the likes of Ronyx69, Lazeras*man, and others made it it.

One Click Collection of Required and Recommended Items: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1612682820

Map Features:

Hand Drawn Intersections
3 Highway connections & 2 National Road Connections
3 Rail Connections
Air & Shipping
Working 1600 MW Dam (power lines drawn to start square for vanilla players)
Start Square Sewage Drain (logistics for building a city on the inner side of a bay)
Loads of Natural Resources.

Vanilla rules you should be able to get your sewage out via the trap. You can draw water farther upstream. Plenty of buildable tiles to purchase. Same goes for 25 Tiles.

81 Tile players can draw water from the top of the reservoir and drain sewage at the base of the dam (there is a second drainage trap to control water flow coming out of the base of the dam). You have a little room to create some water utilities down there but not a lot.

Recommended Theme/LUT Settings:

Realistic V1.2.13 Boreal by Captain Soap + Relight Cool by Ronyx69 + After you load the map, open Daylight Classic > Select All to Classic > Select All to After Dark. That should get you to match up to the thumbnails.

If you have any feedback, find and glitches, or problems, let me know. I'll try to fix them before moving on to my next map. Also, I'd like to know what works and doesn't work, if I uploaded any wrong setting or requirements, etc.

Thanks for reading and enjoy building!

This is hilarious. I'm a San Jose resident who can't afford a home, and I've contemplated retiring to Eureka -- or, if I could get a critical mass of like-minded folks to join me before retirement, to start a tech business there.

the map looks great, the water placements kinda floods most of the land but it looks good

So much fun... I found my little roundabout in the montains in the south east corner, so now I'm sitting in SoHum, building a better future :P

@fflip8 I'm not having conflicts between Industries and Network Extension myself. However, I am watching @outstandinggammer and their American Roads project as a possible replacement for all highways. I'll tinker around when I get a chance this weekend.

I'd love to try this map sometime! Only issue is that it uses Network Extensions 2. That mod is no longer maintained and isn't compatible with the latest DLC. The map will not start without it, but if I use it with the extensions mod, then I get tons of errors.
