While regaining his strength to restore his physical form and demonic strength, A celestial being intervened and imprisoned Shadow Demon. Bound in prison of light underneath a holy temple, his remnants would collect and take form only to find itself trapped. One ill-fated day, a rat found its way into the dungeon that kept Shadow Demon and made off with but a fragment of his impurity. This infected carrion went on to spread Shadow Demon's influence throughout the temple and the city it was in, poisoning the minds of its people. They began to doubt one another, accusing each other of being a dark follower. Eventually the panic and fear reached a peak, throwing the city into turmoil, war and bloodshed. In the chaos, the temple that housed and caged Shadow Demon was destroyed, setting him loose again into the world. Now he wears the remains of his former prison as a symbol to those that would dare think of trying to bind his might.
