Yeah, they're a total collectors item now. Same with a lot of the stuff I grew up with. If I had disposable money I'd be tempted to collect some of it myself just for the nostalgia of it!
My fondest memory of StarCom was actually the Battle Crane. It was the first one I got & I remember being kind of annoyed that the cockpit wasn't big enough to close with the little bloke inside - that he had to sit with his top half out in the open.
When I built this I was thinking it looked a bit like the Battle Crane.

Might do another vesion with legs that work like the toy.
I don't remember the TV series ever airing here in the UK - at least I never heard about it if it did - but I had a lot of the toys... the smaller ones at least, including the Battle Crane (the "big ones" were like £60 each back then & for expensive presents I only ever asked for Lego Technic!).
My best friend at the time had the Starmax Bomber because his dad was well paid... but his mum almost never let him play with any of his toys in case he broke them! They were mostly for her to show off to her friends with, kind of a "look how much my husband earns" thing. She was a pretty woman but a wholesale b!tch. Letched over all the male teachers like a prozzie! All the mums hated her! Hehe!
Ahh though, the memories!
Would love to see more StarCom stuff if you feel like it. Might even get round to doing some of my own one day.
