Advanced Vehicle Options

Description
Advanced Vehicle Options 1.9.13.1

Always check your configuration with Skyve for old, outdated and incompatible mods.

Mod Description
This mod let you customize various options about vehicles. To access those options simply click on the vehicle icon at the bottom right of your screen (next to the policy icon). This workshop object is a fork of AVO version 1.8.2 published by Boogieman Sam[github.com], who has retired from the Cities Skylines modding community and left this mod open-sourced for the community.

Use the Vehicle Selector by Algernon for an increased individual experience to control spawing even more.

As of Version 1.9.13 the Harmony framework is a mod requirement. Please make sure to subscribe.

Changelog
The Changelog can be found here on Steam or on the Wiki[github.com].

Compatibility
This mod can be safely removed without impact on the savegame. The AVO setting is kept inside the save file but will not cause any harm.

Source Code
Get the source code from the repository at GitHub. Feel free to contribute more functionality and help to fix existing issues. Link to AVO GitHub repository[github.com].

Known Issues
Racedays DLC: the race vehicles do good around 100 km/h, but above they will act weird. The standard value is 125 km/h. Due to this, AVO will set them automatically to the data, which are usually used in the race. This is a speed of 75 km/h. You can override this value, but the high you go, the more crazy the vehicles will drive. If you use 125 km/h, AVO will set the speed back to 75 km/h. The Race Bicycles are now doing 50 km/h instead like the City Bikes around 31 km/h. You can change to any speed, the faster the worse they act.

Any change will be only applied, if a new event is started. You cannot change speed during an ongoing race event. This is due to game design.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for this amazing mod — many of us have been using it for years!
However, I think one of the recent updates introduced a small bug. I was unable to select vehicles for the bus transport lines. All the options in the drop-down menu were greyed out. Anything that had been set previously stayed the same, but new lines would default to random. I only encountered the bug with trolley bus and bio bus lines. I haven't tested regular buses. Taxis were not affected. The option was greyed out regardless of whether I tried to set the vehicle via the lines manager or the line info.
Removing this mod solved the issue. Trains were also unaffected. I haven't checked other types of transport or sightseeing, but I suspect it is tied to buses.

Dear Community - version 1.9.13.1 is now live, allowing to change the race vehicles speeds properly. It also fixes an issue, where the Russian language file was not loaded.

Thanks to t1a2l for checking this out and fixing it. Highly appreciated!

Dear Comunity - I have already added the below "known issue" to the description. This is actually not a mod isue, but the behavior of the DLC code...

Also be careful, when using other mods, changing race vehicle speeds - it might cause conflicts.

Hi! Why don't I have Russian language options in the mod settings? I updated and reinstalled the mod, but my language still isn't there( How can I fix this?

@Tim @t1a2l It seems that the Harmony patch is not applied correctly. I've added some logging messages to the RaceEventAIPatch but they don't get called. Unfortunately my programming skills end there xD. Maybe it helps anyway.

@Darth_Jimbo, actually that is what the included changes should to. I will check with T1a2l to review, he has much more knowledge then I do.

Unfortunately for me the race cars are still unaffected by AVO changes. Even after save-load, rebuilding the race HQ and replanning the event. Another modder who is currently trying to solve this mentioned that race cars do not obey the "normal" parameters and have their own data inside the event manager. Maybe that'll help.
