Description
Last updated: 14th July 2021

A mod for these desperate times when you charge the AI's archers with full health heavy cavalry only to watch your unit lose to the archers in melee combat afterwards.

No seriously, this mod removes the unit stat bonuses granted to the AI by your currently selected battle difficulty without changing around any of the economical bonuses or other non-battle related values.

Quick overview:
Changes bonuses, maluses and multiplicators for Hard / Very Hard / (Legendary) battle difficulty to remove artificially inflated difficulty. Does not affect campaign difficulty, only battle difficulty.
  • AI morale bonus from 4 / 10 to 0 / 0
  • Player morale malus from -2 / -4 to 0 / 0
  • AI melee attack multiplicator from 1.1 / 1.15 to 1 / 1
  • AI melee defence multiplicator from 1.1 / 1.2 to 1 / 1
  • AI melee damage multiplicator from 1.1 / 1.15 to 1 / 1
  • AI charge multiplicator from 1.1 / 1.15 to 1 / 1
  • AI missile reload speed bonus from 10 / 20 to 0 / 0

FAQ:
1. Does this mod affect Legendary difficulty as well?
Yes. Since there is only Legendary campaign difficulty, but no Legendary battle difficulty, CA uses the Very Hard battle values for all the battles fought during a campaign on Legendary difficulty. And these values are changed by this mod.

2. Why would I need this? Can I not just set the battle difficulty to Normal during my campaigns?
You can do this, but only in singleplayer campaigns. Multiplayer campaigns still require a mod like this when you don't want to be forced to use the battle difficulty setting that the campaign difficulty setting dictates.
I hope CA includes this feature in Total War: Warhammer III

As of 13th July 2021, this feature has been officially implemented by CA.

@Iandrasil: Feel free to open up the mod's files in ..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\594570\1543888097 and see what it does with the AI values. Units in my game route as normal btw, unless they are unbreakbale.

I don't think this mod works, trying it in battle and AI literally never routs with this mod, uninstalled it and AI routs as if their leadership bonusses are removed, trying to find a mod that actually stops the AI cheating but almost all are bugged or not working as described so far

@Avrahammer: Yes! I didn't expect the extra slider for multiplayer battle difficulty before Warhammer III, but now they finally added it. I couldn't find it anywhere in their patch notes tho... sneaky.
I'll keep this mod around, since it's easy to update and because I think that some scripted battles and invasions still scale off of the battle difficulty settings.

Thank! I always hope higher battle difficult means smarter AI and better strategy. I don't want a cheating AI which simply has better stats than me lmao

Thank you. I just ran into Britonians and charged 2 groups of archers with 3 units of cav. Watched my cav get decimated. The AI can already spawn full 20 stacks out of thin air, I don't know why they need so many combat bonuses.
