Dusty Rhodes

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, the son of a plumber, was an everyman hero who wrestled for the NWA, Jim Crockett Promotions, WCW, ECW, and the WWF. Outside of the ring, Dusty was an accomplished and well regarded booker and agent.

Dusty didn't look like any of the other top wrestlers, and that was always part of his charm. It didn't hurt that ee was as skilled on the mic as anyone else in the history of professional wrestling, and his "Hard Times" promo is regarded as one of the greatest of all time.

Rhodes feuded with several legends over the years, and feud with Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen was legendary. Dusty captured his thrid (and final) NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Flair in 1986 at The Great American Bash.

Dusty's run in the WWF is remembered fondly still by some, although others look back at Dusty being dressed in yellow polka dots as a waste of The American Dream's potential in the world's largest wrestling company.

Dusty's legacy lives on with his sons, Goldust and Cody Rhodes, each of whom have had successful wrestling careers, and with those he had worked with as a booker and trainer.
