50% Less EXP Gain (Definitive Edition)

Description
This mod reduces EXP gain by about 50% from combat.

This should help to avoid characters becoming overleveled and steamrolling encounters.

This mod is compatable with existing save games however it will not remove any exp characters have already received.

The 25% less version is here:

The 75% less version is here:

Has there been any updates, I would like to play mods with more enemies/combat but not sure which is best.

We used the -25% exp at first and things were fine, but we added level scaleing in to make things abit more difficult so we also decided to get the -50%... now most the mobs don't give exp, it appears switching -exp mid game mess's up the exp.

Hi Moth, there is a known issue with starting enemies that only grant 1 XP on death. Could you try fighting the enemies you mention with the XP mod disabled? Then see how much XP each enemy gives you?

If they only give 1 XP each before mod is enabled, that would be your problem: Less EXP Gain mods reduce experience by 25/50/75 percent, but such enemies would then always give 0 XP. Sadly that is all ForgottenAmnesia can do in this mod for now.

Alternatively, ForgottenAmnesia would have to remember each time XP was rounded down, and then round it up the next time, and vice versa. Over time that should approximate the 25/50/75 percent (a 100% less XP gain version would not suffer from such rounding issues).

I started out with the -25% exp reduction to see how the scaling would go. However, I still leveled to quickly and decided to use this version. Now all the mobs don't give any exp whatsoever.

2019, this mod still removes xp completely from other mobs. Same goes for the 75 and 25 versions as well. I downloaded this simply to turn off xp whenever I reach the max level for each act---basically, i let my characters take xp normally, and then, using this mod, i turn off xp when my characters reach the ideal level for the act.

Fort Joy: level 9
Reaper's Coast: level 16
Nameless Isle: level 18
Arx: level 22

I've run across the same issue of certain npcs not giving experiance while this mod is on. Removing the other mods (Divine Scaling, Monster Madness and More Monster Spawns) sadly doesnt fix certain types of mobs not giving exp with this mod or the 75 and 25 versions. Recommend running the 50% and not caring about mobs not giving exp or running the 75% and turning the mod off if you hit a pack that dont give exp to keep the levels in a good spot with DS, MM amd MMS on.

In the divinity engine you can find the list in the stats editor

And where would I find this list? I could look in the editor and test a few things myself.

I changed the gain modifier to about half for any enemy with a gain modifier in the list.
