(DEFUNCT)How to disable DoF (Background Blur)

This guide will show you how to disable the depth of field effect (background blur).

Instructions

1. Navigate to: C:\Users\YourComputerName\AppData\Local\SCUM\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

or search in windows for: %appdata%

The path might be hidden on some machines: How to unhide system files for different versions of Windows[support.microsoft.com]

2. Open "GameUserSettings.ini" in a notepad.

3. Look for the line "r.DepthOfFieldQuality" under [ScumSettings]. If it isn't there you will need to add it under [ScumSettings].

4. Change it to:
r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0

5. Close & save the file, enjoy.

are the developers being Lazy ? to fixing Bugz, Lag, Air Drop Locked Lockers? Background BLUR no zoom in on maps, i understand it's still Early Access But DAM!!! its a widely played Game that all have paid for. think all this is still on going and i barely installed it on 9/28/2022 if i am not mistaken this Guide Tread from 2018 or so.

hmm, some tips for ya dooza:

Ensure your system meets or exceeds the requirements listed on the storepage.

Try to reverify the game cache in Steam

Update &/or clean install your drivers.

Since downloading i have experienced a lot of lag which i could get over i understand that this is an early access game and there will be bugs ,for some reason now my drivers keep stopping then recovering .when i load the game i get a long pause then the game screen a long pause i can hear the game in the background ,i choose the single player mode i press to load and my pc goes funny and my drivers stop working ive tried everything and the above but nothing works ,ive diabled this and that updated drivers and nothing seems to do the trick .

As of Friday, December 7th, the method in this guide no longer works.

I will keep it up for now, incase what happend in the patch concerning gameusersettigs.ini is undone or if a dev replies about the situation moving forward.

For now I will label in the title (Defunct).

play to long and my eyes hurt so bad cant even play for 3-4 days and strain on looking at the epic small font like ammo 9/20 that needs to be raised by 50% massive eye strain just in that tiny font
