Savannah

Fouded by General Oglethorpe in 1733, the city was laid out like a military encampment with drilling sqaures in the middle of each housing sqaure. The sqaures would be used for military drill, markets, festivals and even exacutions. Savannah was the only city in the south when founded to ban slavery, this action would later be repealed due to the citizens of Savannah becoming jealous of neighboring cities like Charleston and plantations outside the city limits.
