Kamikaze Pilots - Kamikaze Tokubetsu Kogekitai

Descriere
UPDATE: The ships in the screenshot are not included in the mod. However, the mod has been updated to allow for some compatibility. As in, Kamikaze units can now ram into the ships and after successful runs, they will sink effeciently.

NOTE: This is mostly just a mini faction that is for aesthetics and multiplayer servers who want to make this a full fledged role for players, as well as to inspire scenario makers in the future for more Pacific conflict based situations. It is not meant to be 100% accurate either, mostly just trying to make a distinct aesthetic for the famed Kamikaze pilots.

SOMETIMES, original Faces of War pilots will be placed into the planes if you spawn them. To avoid this, simply click 'spawn without pilot' when preparing these units. Not like it matters, as they are mostly not visible during gameplay.

For the most part, it is best to spawn empty planes and allow players to enter them upon their own free will.

No actual Kamikaze script exists yet for realistic function of these units, however - the Arma 3 flying a.i is already super suicidal on custom maps so there is not much reason for one.

KNOWN 'WEABOO' GLITCH: Sometimes the ordinary Shinpu will spawn with a western face. I do not know what causes this and have only encountered it twice, but for the most part you will not notice the western spy among you. However, it can certainly be immersion breaking I know and I am working on a fix for it.

Kamikaze means 'divine wind' or 'spirit wind'. Those who are familiar with Japanese history and poetry, will know that the term was coined to describe the typhoons that whiped out invading Mongol hordes. Officially called the Tokubetsu Kogekitai (特別攻撃隊, "Special Attack Unit"), Kamekaze pilots performed suicide attacks in the name of the God-Emperor of Japan and to complete the greater plan of uniting the eight corners of the earth under the 'Japanese Pagoda'. 3,800 Kamikaze pilots were killed during the war, bringing down more than 7,000 Allied personnel from the collateral of their 'sacrifice'. These attacks were especially effective against Allied naval vessels in the closing stages of the Pacific theater of war.

Their aircraft were used as explosive missiles, built from a variety of aircrafts and modified to add an extra punch upon collision. Close bombing missions against the Allies were already suicide missions, so the Kamikaze were a fulfillment of those death wishes and it was a great honour that they did so. However, the man who initiated the Kamikaze combat doctrine would later kill himself out of guilt and shame. Ironic.

Pilots would ram into enemy ships with a combination of explosives, bombs, torpedoes and full fuel tanks, 19% of Kamekaze attacks were successful.

Captain Motoharu Okamura commented that "there were so many volunteers for suicide missions that he referred to them as a swarm of bees", explaining: "Bees die after they have stung."

I appreciate this. The Pacific portion of WW2 doesnt get enough attention as the European portion. And as for accuracy they look close enough so I'm not going to complain. This will help me with my scenario on the new Iwo Jima map so many thanks friend.
