Ever wondered how your team would fare against other adventurers?

Well now you can find out!

Description
This mod will add heroes as rare monster encounters to the 4 core regions. You'll be able to face off against full parties of 4 Fallen Heroes or find just a few of them walking about in hallways. The encounters are rare, as they are a force to be reckoned with. (About 1 encounter every 4/3/2 dungeons for Apprentice/Veteran/Champion respectively).

Each hero has 2 trinkets equipped (you can't see which ones though), their buffs are hidden. The "rarities" of the trinkets scale with the quest level, so that apprentice Heroes have uncommon trinkets while Champion heroes will have Ancestral or even Trophy trinkets!

Loot will also be bountiful if you manage to beat Fallen Heroes, as they've been scavenging loot themselves. Antiquarians especially give nice stacks.

And in case you were wondering, these are all post-patch versions of the heroes, with all the new crit effects etc.

Sounds are in! All heroes including Shieldbreaker and Flagellant now have sounds!


New Quirk: Tracked

Causes Affixed Fallen Heroes to spawn. Affixes are explained in the glossary in detail.

Chances:
1 Tracked hero: ~8%
2 Tracked heroes: ~12%
3+ Tracked heroes: ~16.5%


Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with every mod out there, except of course other mods that adds heroes as enemies (assuming they use the same monster ids, e.g. PBD, which inspired this mod).

Load Order: Should not matter at all. If you want to be safe put it at the top, this mod will not overwrite anything, as all the files are original with unique names.

Credits

A huge thank you to Maester Silvio for allowing me to use the Fallen Heroes he had made for PBD as a baseline for this mod. It helped out immensly as I only had to make Abomination from scratch, while for the others I had all the files/anims etc. named and structured correctly.

it's almost as if the mod is too much

I mean this in no offense, i love it, it's a really good mod and I almost always run either this or the arena, but it's just too much. The enemies are not rare, they hard focus your weakest link and they are as strong as your own heroes. Which means, they have much higher potential to kill one of your guys on the first round, the same way you do.

It's a really good mod, but they're so hard and so common that, weaker team comps, especially early game, just cannot handle it. If you have so much as one antiquarian, your chances diminish extravagantly. If the dev did revisit the mod, it'd be great to tweak a couple things, maybe make enemy parties be restricted to just 1 per dungeon or to only be encountered on medium and long dungeons

Also coming back to add, that "encounter rate" is absolutely bogus haha. They're not rare at all, I defeated half a dozen encounters within a level 3 short dungeon. Walked out with a massive amount of emeralds and rubies, but they're nowhere near as rare as you claim, and I have a bunch of mods that add even MORE enemies into the mix, so their encounter rate should be incredibly low with just 1 tracked hero. But it certainly is not!

Encountering these enemies on Stygian/Bloodmoon: *intense sweating*

Seriously, had a flagellant, highwayman, jester and occultist show up on my level 3 Weald dungeon on Bloodmoon and they nearly party wiped me. No casualties, but the mission had to be abandoned. Everyone was at 80-150 stress and had been at death's door at least once. It seems that every fallen hero has like a minimum 25% crit rate on Bloodmoon (including the trinket boons they get) so they just hit so freaking hard. Idk if that number is correct, but it really felt like every turn, at least one of them would crit me xD

I just had a veteran boss quest have twelve fallen hero encounters in a row, every fight was a full team of four fallen heroes, other than obviously the boss room. These guys are not nearly as rare as they're meant to be. I did make 42k off of them though since I just so happened to be using my strongest characters.

I love getting a necessary room encounter of 2 houndmasters and 2 bounty hunters that turn 1 crit my front character for 37 damage(Apprentice level mission btw) and then before any of my characters got a turn one of the other ones hit him and instantly killed him, this mod is FIRE, gotta be the most fair and balanced enemy mod on this workshop.

@chogex I am currently trying to implement a questline where you fight other heroes on multiple occasions. Can I use the fallen heroes from your mod as a baseline in mine? If I end up completing the mod and making it public I will of course bring up yout name and the address of this mod.
